I remember in the 80s that I read about tensions between Charlotte and Geri Jewell on the set in the tabloids. They said Geri was difficult to work with basically. That would explain what Geri said at the end of the Collector's Call episode last night.

I think it's milder than that (you know tabloids). RetroGuy2000 has researched the Geri/Charlotte feelings before, which come full circle and friendly/fine. He can fill in more.

There's only 1 I can find on their site, "Meet Mancow". Even a Google search for "collector's call charlotte rae" under "Videos" doesn't turn up full episode results. That's a shame.

It's also a shame they aired Charlotte's episode during the Oscars. They probably lost some viewers who didn't have DVRs.

It's too bad, because I really wanted to see Charlotte's episode too.

My DVR failed to record the episode, so I'm looking for it online. I haven't found it so far, but I did find this interview where Lisa talks briefly about FOL and the episode.

There's definitely a documentary, I think the one from 2006, in which Charlotte praises Geri. Then Geri says "First she [Charlotte] would accept me, then she would reject me." Then Charlotte says something to the effect of, "If Geri thinks that, it's her problem," rejecting what Geri says.

It definitely did come full circle, with them reuniting happily at the 2008(?) TV Land Awards.

I don't believe Charlotte truly rejected Geri, but she might have disapproved of the things Geri did outside of the show, including some affairs with women who weren't very discreet. Geri also talks candidly about this, in her book. Geri says Charlotte's agent(?) was also very unkind to her. It's definitely worth a read just for the Charlotte-Geri-Lisa interactions.
