I’ve followed Doug for years because he works closely with Lloyd Kaufman of Troma. I wonder what cases they are covering.

I am excited it is still a GO. There was silence for over a year I was thinking it wouldn't be happening. I am very interested to know who will be the host/narrator. In my mind it should be Dennis Haysbert the Allstate man; but I doubt they could afford him. I cannot wait I am still binge watching the old seasons every night when I get ready for bed I fall asleep to Unsolved Mysteries. It is hilarious because when I was a kid watching with my grandpa this show scared the sh.. out of me. Now it is more nostalgic than anything. Love my UM.

Not sure how this reboot will do without a host/narrator. It is such a pivotal role of UM's success and legendary status. Remember when they changed the narrator of Disappeared and it changed the entire tone of the show? Once caser per show is also going to be interesting to see.

Wow. Production began in February 2019 and wrapped in December 2019, which is an unusually long time for this kind of show.
The good news is the series could be streaming as early as March or April since I imagine they’ve been editing each episode along the way. |

If you already have Netflix, watch Haunted for an example of how this is done. Or if you’ve seen Paranormal Witness, it will be done in that style.

They knew it would be much more difficult (and presumably time consuming) to do it this way, so I think they had a vision of what the new era was going to be like. |

It can be done but I'm a little curious how they will pull this off for longer stories. I always preferred the narrator (Stack) because you could give more detail, you could script it better, and it helped make some of the case freakier IMO. |

They need to rename this show because nothing about it is Unsolved Mysteries.

The ID show, "Murder in the Heartland" is a nice example of a good true crime show without a narrator, that isn't over the top soap opera-ish with its re-enactments.

I am okay without having a host. If it is the wrong person, it won't be enjoyable for me.
I would also prefer 2-3 cases an episode, instead of 4 or 5 shorter segments. |
