Default Molly to do Mexican avocados commercial during the Super Bowl.

40 years after peddling California Raisins, Molly Ringwald will be doing a Super Bowl commercial promoting Mexican Avocados.

Oh wow! A "Facts of Life" girl in a Super Bowl commercial! A Lost Girl during the Super Bowl! Holy cow!

I wonder if Molly Parker developed a taste for Mexican avocados because of "Señor Tiger" sitting in their dorm rooms wearing that Mexican sombrero?

I might try an avocado just because "our Molly" likes them!

Clearly, that's the case!

She says in the article that she wouldn't do a John-Hughes-film-inspired commercial, which makes me think she definitely wouldn't do a FOL-inspired take on an avocado commercial, but that's exactly what I'd love to see.

Something along the lines of, "As a feminist and Eastland alumnus, I eat Mexican avocados because they're the tastiest of fruits... even more tasty than California raisins!"

I love me some avocado and guac, so I have no problem buying more, just to honor one of Eastland's Lost girls!

...where's the avocado emoji when you need it?

Next Molly should be endorsing a Cinnamon bun company.

"I now pronounce these avocados untainted!"

"That frizz-haired floozy, she doesn't like Mexican avocados!"

"I get upset and chew on pencils when there are no Mexican avocados around!"

I wish I could say the same, but I have never tasted an avocado, nor "guac". Yet my favorite color is green! But I would LOVE to honor Lost Girls too---at least I'm "okay" with raisins!

Probably not the best campaign slogan...

I'm on board with either one of those!

But I have another suggestion: "These Mexican avocados are tres magnifique!"

...or, alternately: "I enjoy eating Mexican avocados whenever I'm at this dump of a school, Eastland!"

How's that even possible?!

I absolutely love guacamole, and it's so popular as a party dip. Neither avocados nor guac were available when I was a little kid living in the Midwest, but that changed when I was 12. And avocados are very popular, here, on salads.

I can definitely recommend guacamole, the "holiest" of party dips. Maybe for Super Bowl Sunday, you can try some fresh guac, in honor of Molly and her new commercial!

I like raisins, but they're no guacamole.

Haha! A Spanish-French slogan! I like it!

It just is! lol. I'm afraid I wouldn't like avocados or guacamole. But if Molly gave me some to try, I would!

Would you believe there was a Muppet avocado? It even has its own Muppet Wiki page! As Tootie would say, "Did I lie??"

Well, I wouldn't say Spanish, actually, since they're Mexican. That'd be like calling us British!

Well, she's endorsed them, now. It seems this is the right time to give in to celebrity endorsement!

I'm not at all surprised there's an avocado Muppet. I recall there being many fruit/vegetable Muppets over the years, many of them musical. The ones that are most prominent in my mind are the "two names are better than one" multilingual fruit, who had names like Apple/Monzana.

Most of the younger audience will probably recognize Molly as Archie's mom on Riverside than anything from her John Hughes movies, let alone the FOL.

Yeah, I was thinking of if a Spanish word had been used. Then it would be Spanish-French, si, oui, lol.

Yes, I LOVE the singing food! But most of those are "American" fruits and veggies, so I'd be more surprised seeing a Mexican avocado, lol.
