If these funny, but dumb sitcom characters were all in one place, which one of them would be the smartest?
Hank Kimball (Green Acres), Ernest T. Bass (The Andy Griffith Show), Coach Ernie Pantuso (Cheers), Woody Boyd (Cheers), Bull Shannon (Night Court), Lowell Mather (Wings), Dauber Dybinski (Coach), Luther Van Dam (Coach), Harry Solomon (3rd Rock from the Sun), Mork from Ork (Mork and Mindy), Waldo Giraldo Faldo (Family Matters), Larry, Daryl, and Daryl (Newhart), Cosmo Kramer (Seinfeld), and the four main Sweathogs from Welcome Back, Kotter (Vinnie Barbarino, Arnold Horshack, Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington, and Juan Epstein) |

I'd like to add an additional character to the list:
Rose Nylund (The Golden Girls)---When she needed to be she could be very smart. |

Screech was an odd one. Technically, he was a genius. I mean, he was a teenager who was able to build a fully functioning robot. Not to mention being the class valedictorian. Yet, he was given all of the typical sitcom dumb guy lines.

Mork wasn't dumb. He was an alien who just didn't understand humans or Earth culture. That certainly doesn't make him dumb.

It's true: Screech was supposedly a genius who built his robot, Kevin. But he was also the dumbest character on the show. And that includes Mr. Belding, who was routinely tricked, in nearly every episode, by a 15-year-old kid (Zack).
