Default Natasha Jennings

I've noticed a few holes in the Natasha Jennings segment:

1) Natasha's friend claimed that Natasha was raped at a party, but according to the detective, there was no evidence of sexual assault.

WELL, OF COURSE THERE WASN'T! She'd just gotten out of the shower. She would have washed all evidence of sexual assault down the drain.

2) She was found with her hair wet and a fan sprawled across her. Is it possible that the poor girl was trying to plug in her fan, and was electrocuted by accident?

3) Random stranger tells Mom that Natasha's father was a drug informant for the police. Natasha's father denies this. Detective assigned to the case agrees that he most certainly WAS an informant. Carson City sheriff says he most certainly WAS NOT. One side is lying here.

4) Is it just me, or does this case remind you of Kurt Sova? A teenager dies, and they don't know what the heck happened.

Who is that in your avatar? I know it’s from UM, just can’t place it.

That’s Florian Bourch, captain of the Freedon, from the Lisa Bishop case

I tend to think she accidentally OD'd (as postulated here: http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...tasha_Jennings) despite the fact the autopsy didn't show any traces of drugs in her system. Alternately, an accidental electrocution makes sense as well.

Nothing (that we know of) showed up on the autopsy to support any kind of foul play scenario - a possible strangulation/suffocation by "Chris" or by some drug dealers (if a suspect or suspects chose to use other means like a gun, that would've been obvious).

Nor is there any evidence to support the theory that her father was an informant (and thus, the idea she was killed to get back at him). If she did indeed die as the result of some kind of freak accident, the authorities could've been legitimately flummoxed. It sounds crazy, but just think - around this board w/certain other cases, prevailing theories nearly all centered around foul play of some sort and then over time, were disgarded in favor of more rational explanations (usually highlighting accidental means or suicide). The authorities could've been thinking in exactly the same way.

That makes a lot of sense, but why would a detective lie to the mother of the victim about her father being an informant? That doesn't make a lot of sense!

I've always thought she had some freak medical condition that went undiagnosed or overdosed on drugs. Everything else in the segment (the informant angle, the sex assault angle, foul play, etc.) was always bizarre to include for me. And the detective from the Tim McClure segment is also in this one.

Shhhh.....

It's been almost 2 months since anyone posted in a Tim McClure thread, let's not give people a reason to start thinking about it.

But, I think the undiagnosed medical condition holds weight. If it was something rare, it could have easily been missed at autopsy too.

1. Other than semen they would be looking for vaginal trauma indicative of forced penetration.

2. Very possible.

3. Might have been local gossip-many people are suspected of being snitches but aren't. We have the mother claiming an unnamed officer told her he was & the sheriff saying he wasn't. It is highly unlikely the father would confess to being one even if he was. The problem with the theory is there were no threat made to him, no calling card left, they would be far more likely to go after him & the biggest problem of all is there were no signs of violence on her body-so how did they kill her? I think Wecht's theory is most likely-she took some drugs & had a bad reaction, or the accidental electrocution theory.

I just re-watched this one. This is another case where, as an adult in my 20’s, I thought there was a lot more going on than what we saw. Now, with more life experience under my belt, I think the explanation is pretty simple:

I agree with Dr. Wecht. She had a bad reaction to drugs and died. It explains why her hair was wet (he thought she took a shower to come down bc a side effect of meth is hyperthermia) and it also explains her sudden collapse. She absolutely could have had a medical condition that was undiagnosed.

I feel for her mother who doesn’t want to believe that Natasha may have experimented with drugs.

The worse it is, the more people don't want to accept it (why a lot of parents profiled on UM are adamant their kids were murdered instead of taking their own lives)

I find it hard to believe this could have been a homicide. There more than likely would be some evidence of trauma. It's heartbreaking, since her family doesn't have definitive answers, but the drug residue seems indicative of the most logical explanation here.

Here’s an old blog on this case, with replies from Natasha’s mother (if it’s really her).

http://noelwaters.blogspot.com/2008/...-jennings.html

Evidently Natasha’s father, Clarence Jennings passed away in 2008 from a drug overdose.

Maybe I just missed it, but I haven’t seen what the results of the autopsy were for the cause of Natasha’s death?
