On Beaver’s Old Buddy
It has to be right up (down) there with Chuckie’s Shoes. Jackie had to do some serious acting to portray a bored kid. Who cares if they didn’t want to do stuff they used to do. Talk about movies, TV, kids they used to play with, new kids they have met, sports they play, what’s it like to go to a new school. Also what did the orthodontist do to your teeth. It was a stupid episode and a dumb script. Ward was funny trying to entertain Beaver’s friend. June sprung that on him that Jackie was coming for the weekend. My favorite line was June wanting the boys to go to Flowers of Spring. Ah oh Adults only filmed in Sweden. |

One funny line even before Jackie unfortunately arrived:
Wally: Is he the one with the teeth? Beaver: Mos' o' my friends got teeth. The script might have worked if the boys had tried little kid stuff that didn't work, and eventually Ward talked to the boys and explained what he later explained to Beaver, but then suggest some of the things you suggest. Also I think this isn't original, but wouldn't it be nice if for once they brought back someone the viewer knew? Rusty would probably have been available since he was still doing character roles. They could even have had Mrs. Mondello drop him off and give her some funny lines ("What's new?" "Larry's father is out of town on business again, and his sister is out in the car with her hair in curlers.") All scripts can't be good, but this and Shoes are probably the worst two in the series. |

Well, Beaver the Bunny would be right in there for that title, too.

That's what you get for trying to make every season 39 episodes: mediocre and sub-par scripts.

I don't have a problem with any episode of Leave It To Beaver, each season having 39 episodes is an awesome thing
. I will say that there are some episodes I don't like quite as much as others, but I haven't seen an episode that I consider so bad that I wouldn't want to see it again. The script writing in the series was consistently strong throughout the six seasons.

Agreed. Some shows have unviewable episodes. LITB isn't one of them.

Hey retro, if I ever watched an episode of One Day at a Time it would be to laugh at how stupid it was. Franklin, Bertinelli and Phillips were so fake. The only semi funny one was the janitor.

. Great show although I prefer the earlier seasons (1-4) over the later seasons (5-9).

For a series with 234 episodes, Leave It To Beaver has consistently strong writing throughout the six seasons. A few episodes aren't as great as others but no episode is in the unviewable category.
