Get ready for a country twist on a classic game show as CMT will debut Nashville Squares a version of Hollywood Squares with some of the biggest stars in country music will appear as contestants play the same way as Hollywood Squares but rather than competing for a car as in the John Davidson version of Hollywood Squares contestants will have the chance to win a trip to Nashville. Returning to the game show world as a Comeback Kid as the host of Nashville Squares is Bob Saget and who knew that Bob and country music could mix so well. All I can say is that CMT will gain a bigger audience and successful ratings from Nashville Squares and not since TNN's country music game show Fandango have we seen another country music game show take center stage in the 2010's

Hi, Bestie! I am going to watch this show when I can. Wow! Hasn't Bob Saget gotten fat? If he still hosted "The Mob" I would say he is a mob. But Bob is a good game show host and I will watch and give it a fair shake. BTW CMT must be doing real good to run a high class show like this one. What do you think?

I tried the Nashville Squares pilot, wasn't impressed. I didn't bother staying for the 2nd episode and switched to Supermarket Sweep. Bob Saget was a lot better as the 1 vs. 100 host.

I watched the first episode of Nashville Squares online and though Bob Saget is a really good host, i felt the game was too slow. There was too much time talking to the celebrities and they only got in one full game and one question into the second game.
There was one other bright spot. The bonus round resembled the one in the John Davidson version of Hollywood Squares where a contestant chose a key and if the car started, they won the car. To be blunt, i don't think Nashville Squares will go beyond one season. It's too slow and lacks the humor of the long running Peter Marshall version as well as the incarnation that Tom Bergeron hosted. |
