Talking Lucy's Cheeks Have Color Again for Christmas!!

Great News for all, on 12/20 there will be a New I Love Lucy Colorized Special featuring the Christmas ep. & trumpets please: Da Ta Ta Taa: the Paris At Last episode! Now personally I'd rather see any of the first season ILL episodes over the later travelogue shows. But CBS for some reason seems to like it when Lucy's traveling. To me any episode that doesn't take place in the apartment in NY is an inferior episode.

But this problem could be solved if only CBS would colorize the complete series and sell it on DVD. Now that's a dream.

I agree. I like the apartment eps. the best too! I wish they would colorize " Lucy wants new furniture " ! That very funny scene where to save money Lucy sews her own dress and does her own perm and color !! I'd love to see that big mop of frizzy orange hair and funny dress in color !!!

Two road trip eps I did really like were when Lucy and Ethel shared a ride to Florida with a lady they were sure was a hatchet murderess ! And the California road trip that they stayed in a broken down road house motel!

I personally would rather CBS colorize these episodes that I mentioned in this thread.

Thumbs up Colorful Dream

Those episodes, Bonniegirl, are memorable and worthy of some color. I esp. liked that ep. with Elsa Lancaster playing the possible murderess, great to see it in color.

But my favorite Lucy "trip" episode would be "CA Here I Come". I'd love to see the whole gang in beautiful living color singing in the car CA Here I Come. Yes, that'd be great. I'd color the car a light yellow with a tan steering wheel.

Come on Paramount/CBS or whoever colorize the ENTIRE series and put it out on DVD, it's a sure seller. What's the holdup??

That would be great! I also think the Grape stomping in Italy episode would be really cool colorized!

That Lucy stomping grapes episode was colorized and shown on CBS in 2013. It also was released onto DVD two times. The first time in 2013 with it being attached to color versions of the I Love Lucy XMas special (2013 version of the colorizing and not the inferior 1990 version) and Lucy In Scotland. It was release again in August 2019 with all the colorized I Love Lucy episodes that were colorized at the time.)

Lightbulb Color this one too

Also would love to see in color the episode where Lucy & Ethel fight over the washing machine and it goes over the railing. That's another memorable one, of course from the apartment days. The traveling Lucy shows just don't compare with the great stories they did in the apartment. Wish CBS would get busy and focus on season 1 or 2, better yet release the ENTIRE series colorized on DVD.

What's that one where Lucy and Ethel wallpaper the bedroom, and Ethel gets wallpapered in? That'd be a good one. As for traveling episodes, that one where they're on the way to Calif. and they stay at the dump with the cabin that shakes when the train goes by, really funny.
Aunt Pauline's Pecan Pralines. And the one where they go thru Bent Fork, with Will Wright and his twin daughters, Inky and Binky, or Teensy and Weensy, whatever their names were.
I also agree about the Elsa Lanchester episode. And maybe the one in Florida on the island with Claude Akins. And how about when Lucy misses the boat to Europe and she lowers to the ship by winch.

You're right, just do the whole series!

The one where Ethel gets wallpapered in is Redecorating. I want to see how gaudy that wallpaper looked.

As far as them do8ng the whole series right now with DVD market shrinking there are problems with that. The people who do the colorizing spend a GREAT DEAL of time to make sure they get the colors right which includes a lot of research. If they do one right now, it would look rushed. It wouldn’t look right at all.

I want to see my favorite episode Ethel's Birthday in color. They probably won't do that one because the dialogue of the play "Over the Teacups" is difficult to hear, but the argument between Lucy and Ethel in the Mertzs' apartment is hilarious.

I Love Lucy eps are great any way you want ‘em - so happy viewing to those who like it in color. Given how groundbreaking the show was, I’m sure the color is picking up some nuances that might be missed in B&W.

CBS colorizing episodes of I Love Lucy for Christmas is turning in to a nice tradition

Yes, a nice tradition, but at this rate I'll be 125 before all the episodes are shown in color. I want the whole series colorized now on DVD while I'm still this side of the grass.

Yes, I forgot about that Ethel Birthday show those pantaloons Lucy gave would be hilarious in color. Make 'em pink and purple!

Come on CBS, with technology the way it has advanced in colorizing today I'm sure it's not as difficult or impossible to do anymore as it once was. We want them NOW not in 70 years.
