There wouldn’t have been a place for Don on TAC beyond a guest appearance, and that’s my guess for what he was offered, if anything at all. It made sense for Jack’s best friend Larry to recur on that show. Jack’s old landlord, not so much.

But what would fans have to gain by simply making up random trivia??Richard Kline and Chris Mann would probably know for sure. So if any of us run into them we can ask them!

People make things up all the time. Or simply repeat misinformation. I’ve seen that countless times on various message boards. In the absence of any evidence, it’s not a credible claim.

As much as I enjoyed Mr. Furley why would he be back as Jack's cook and I would accepted Felipe (Gino Conforti) coming back too but to me EZ Taylor was the perfect resident goofball of the show which suited the younger viewers.

Adding Furley would have meant Three's Company without the girls and that would have been a disaster

No way. Don Knotts was HILARIOUS as Furley and was his 2nd best role in his entire career! I think it was his best role but Hollywood historians would rate this as #2 behind Andy Griffith.

Don Knotts was so funny back then he would've been a good addition to ANY comedy!

If they wanted to they could've created a role for him. Remember Hollywood is all make believe, remember?

For example, they could've simply said Bradford sold half the interest in the restaurant building so now Bradford and Turkey are CO-landlords!

That would've created some great storylines!
