Default So Hooterville only has 28 people?? LMAO!

In the episode where Lisa tried to end deer hunting with a petition either Oliver or Drucker mentions there's only 28 people in Hooterville!

Yet the way they make references to people living in the town it's fair to say at least a few hundred people live there. You wouldn't have a train stop and airport for a town of only 28 people!

They also apparently have an entire school.

We know that Hooterville, Pixley, and Crabwell Corners are all extremely close to each other and the boundaries are far from reliable. It's possible that depending on the circumstance any resident of any town can claim to be from another.

For what it's worth the airport, Trans-Pixley Airlines, was based in downtown Pixley and not Hooterville.

I lived for several years in a hamlet with about 25 residents. There had been an elementary school until 1966, a post office until 1902, a bank and a train depot (a "flag stop") until the 1930s, and a little grocery store until the 1980s. There were still a church, a town hall, and an auto body shop in the 1990s. Even some very small communities can have some services.

I imagine any time they had extra folks milling about in Hooterville, they were from outlying areas not actually within the legal 'city limits' of that locale. But then again, it's Hooterville where the elevation changes from a few inches to thousands of feet depending on that week's script! LOL

Yeah I thought of the railroad guys too. Didn't one of the actors die during the show's run?

I also thought of Dr. Craig, but it would either be Kate or her in the count.

He's part of the Hooterville volunteer fire department so he probably does. Supposedly he lives with his mother but commutes to the county seat where his office is.

Also Mrs. Haney , sometimes Mr. Haney has a wife! Mr. Kimball's Mom could've been Sarah the operator , that was mentioned once I think ? Or another time she was Mr. Trendal's Mom, right?

Also Mr. Wheeler and His Daughter Darlene ! Weren't they the people who went along on the Douglas's picnic? Than there would be Mrs. Wheeler and the other people that were crowded in Oliver's car that day !
