Nothing new - apparently they announced a $20,000 reward for info last week, and they were just reiterating that.

I wonder if this is to get someone to talk about the well-known scenario that is out there about what happened to her, or if they have reason to think something else happened.

She's now on the FBI's "Most Wanted" (kidnapped) so I don't know if that happened last week as well or not.

With all the cases that have broken in the last few years I suspended my normal skepticism.

The fact they they announced there would be an announcement, instead of just making the announcement, likely got us.

I'm betting they're hoping someone will talk (since all of the major players in that well-known scenario are dead now - see the UM Wiki entry on her case)

Why is that photo even still connected to the case? It plainly isn't her-it is obviously a younger female with a totally different face shape/structure. I know the family will cling to any hope-but all that did is derail the case. Seriously, a child can look at that picture & any picture of Tara & see they are not the same person.

Even if it were, it was found what 30 years ago? Not exactly a fresh lead.

Clearly people thinking that the polaroid is connected has kept the case much more visible over the decades - but I don't know if that has actually helped anything.
