Why was Danny Thomas such a favored guest star - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

He appeared at least twice, first during the third season when Nancy refuses to have surgery (that episode also featured a pre-Full House Bob Saget as a doctor). And another one during the final season (it was actually the second to last episode), where Thomas plays the "angel of death" who comes when Jan has compilations after giving birth. It's awfully eerie that whenever one of the main characters had to go to the hospital, they called Danny Thomas.

Now that I think about it some more, I've realized that Danny Thomas' son, Tony was one of the executive producers for It's a Living. So I suppose, I answered my own question.

Danny is a legend, BTW Very popular comedian Pat Cooper also made two appearances as two different characters. He appears as the diner owner when Nancy is fired due to her age and he's at the betting window when Dot gets the horse tip.

Paul Wilson, who later played Paul Krapence on Cheers, was another frequent guest star (as three different characters each) on IAL.
