Default Whatever happened to the actors who played Skippy and Nick?

Whatever happened to the actors who played Skippy and Nick? Skippy was the next door neighbor who had a crush on Mallory and Nick was her eventual boyfriend later in the show. I don't think I've seen either of them in anything since Family Ties went off the air. I'm just curious.

Skippy did stand up for a while but he's not Jay Leno or anything so I don't know if he does that anymore.

Nick was hilarious on FT but his own show "The Art of Being Nick" never caught on. He may be out of acting now which was isn't necessarily a bad thing!

I looked and Scott Valentine was in a video in 2010 (via imdb info). He was born in 1958. He's 8 years older than Justine Bateman. I have nothing against Scott Valentine, but I couldn't stand his character Nick. The way he looked, dressed, acted. The stuff the writers had him wear including the earring was ridiculous, imo.

Marc Price was in something in 2016 (via imdb info). He has done some stand up comedy as mentioned above. He and Justine Bateman are only two years apart in age. I liked the Skippy character.

It's very hard to succeed in acting again once you've been on a hit sitcom and even harder if you were under 18 like Mark Price was.

How many of have done it? Not many and those who do rarely match their previous glory. "The Art of Being Nick" failed because the Keatons were no longer there and their interactions with him were the funniest part of his character!

That's true.

Marc Price was 14 when the show started in 1982 and 21 when it ended in May 1989.
Justine Bateman was 16 when it started in 1982 and 23 when it ended in May 1989.
Tina Yothers was 8 in the pilot and 9 when the show started in Sept. 1982 and had just turned 16 in May 1989 when it ended.
Brian Bonsall was 4 when he joined the cast in Sept. 1986 and 7 when it ended in May 1989.
MJF was 21 when the show started in 1982 and almost 28 when it ended in May 1989.

Only Fox found success after FT but even Spin City wasn't nearly the hit Family Ties was. Some of Fox's movies were downright awful. Can you think of ANY other actor who had a top 10 TV show AND a top 5 movie(or #1?) at the SAME time in their 20s??

Only Michael J. Fox that I know of.

Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson weren't in their 20s when they starred in those movies.

Who cares?

Bad Boys was a box office hit, and Will Smith's breakthrough film. Smith was working on Independence Day, while completing the final season of Fresh Prince. Independence Day beat all three Back to the Future movies, in terms of gate receipts. Will Smith would go on to become one of the greatest actors of the last 25 years.
