Default Kevin James to star in Netflix NASCAR comedy The Crew

https://www.thewrap.com/kevin-james-...ries-the-crew/

Netflix has given a series order to The Crew, a multi-camera comedy set in a NASCAR garage where James plays the crew chief. According to Netflix's description, "when the owner steps down and passes the team off to his daughter, James finds himself at odds with the tech reliant millennials she starts bringing in to modernize the team,” according to Netflix’s description." James will serve as an executive producer along with showrunner and writer Jeff Lowell. Last year, James starred in the Netflix standup special Kevin James: Never Don't Give Up. The special dropped weeks before The King of Queens star's CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait was canceled.

Are they gonna kill off his wife and bring in Leah Remini again?

He's crazy funny. I'd watch him do almost anything.

I'm a little surprised that the series will center around NASCAR. The sport has a loyal following but TV ratings have been trending downward (according to Forbes), and the sport seems to have more of a regional appeal (south popular, west coast not so much). So question one, will this concept be interesting to enough viewers.

As he gets older James is struggling with his comedic persona and the need to adapt to a more mature version of that character. Anyone who remembers Bob Hope's movies from his salad days (late 1930's and 1940's) compared to what he turned out in the 1960's to 1972 period knows what I'm referring to. It will be interesting to see if he can adapt.

In all seriousness, the answer is a big fat NO! As long as this new The Crew sitcom gets someone who can get along with Kevin James to play his wife (that is, if he even has a wife in this new project), then there will be no need to bring in Leah Remini this time around.

If they really do bring in Ms. Remini for The Crew, it's going to get boring fast. Because that is a perfect way for fans/viewers to get upset and tune out, ensuring a quick failure. This is especially true if that same pattern is repeated with literally every future sitcom Kevin James wants to star in.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".
