Default Rose Nylund: Sweetest lady, but super dumb

Rose Nylund is defintely one of the nicest people in the world, but she is mind-numbingly dumb to the point of being annoying. Sure, Rose is super sweet, but her incredible dumbness makes my skin crawl. I could never live with her even though she is so nice. In fact, I could never even be acquaintances with her. She gives me a headache with her endless, idiotic St. Olaf stories and her mystifying stupid ways. I don't know how Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia could live with Rose. I like Dorothy and Blanche a lot. I think Sophia is mean, but at least she's not stupid. Rose is stupid, but nice. Still, I could never spend more than 5 minutes with her.

I think you get more tolerant as you get older. I liked her.

That's not true in all cases. I was more tolerant of the Rose character when I was younger. Now, I'm in my late 40s, and I have almost zero tolerance for Rose.

I think Rose is sweet, and she’s not stupid but naive. I find her quirks endearing. Sophia or Dorothy would get under my skin faster. Neither is shy with the sarcastic, insulting or b**chy remark. After one of Sophia’s more biting insults, I’d be tempted to tell her what to go do with an enema. And yet, I still like Sophia and Dorothy a lot.

STAN is the one who really gets under my skin. Hate the way he ditched Dorothy. (Egads Dorothy What were you thinking when you married this putz; you could have done so much better!)

There's a big difference between nativity and stupidity. Chrissy from "Three's Company" was naive. I liked Chrissy a lot. She was sweet and definitely not stupid.

Rose Nylund was stupid... beyond dumb to the point of frustration, distraction and annoyance.

Rose takes many things literally; I call that being naive but I can see how someone else could perceive that as stupid. Rose does have a high EI IMO, which to me, works against being “stupid”.

OK, I'm just saying that I could never live with her or even interact with her for more than a few minutes. Weird, 'cause I think she's extremely kind, sincere and loving, but I just could never tolerate her "dumbness." Despite being a sweet lady, I find her to be mind-numbingly stupid and annoying. I would love being roommates with "Chrissy", love and adore her, but couldn't be roomies with "Rose." That's just me.

She fitted well with Miles. I can't see her nagging anyone after a hard day's work in the office.

She would be really great working at a children's hospital.

She worked as a grief counselor on GG I believe. She reminds me of Edith Bunker kind of. Not that it may change your mind but google “twelve times Rose was the smartest Golden Girl”. She does come out with some one-liners that’s are beauts.

The Rose character was written differently in certain episodes. In some she was obviously just naive, which was amusing and you could be sympathetic. Other times she was indeed written as downright stupid to the point of ridiculousness.
