Default The Fat jokes about Judy Borden wasn't funny to me because..

I don't think she is fat. Maybe a FAT A$$, But overall I don't see someone who is overweight. Now Reruns Fat jokes were funny because the character was actually fat but Judy didn't fit someone who was fat.

Like this joke by Freddie about Vinny walking to class with Judy

"I saw you walking her to class, I mean ROLLING HER TO CLASS. You would have thought she was the woman on Mike and Molly

I agree with you. Judy really wasn't fat at all. Her a$$ is fat but that is the extent of it. You must be watching the marathon as I am.

Yup. just finished watching the episode with that airhead bambi lol

I wasn't supposed to be here today so since I am not leaving until about 6pm I figured I can watch some of the marathon. Nice switch up from Good Times

Yes, I just finished the Bambi episode as well. The funny thing about that episode is she only stayed in school for three episode.

Good that the marathon only has 1 episode of season 4 which is the last one of the marathon

Nice programming move by Antenna TV

Agree with you 100%. She wasn't fat at all. She was slender.

I've only watched a few eps of "Kotter" but I did DVR the marathon and I have the DVD's that I got from the library. I think fat jokes are only funny if it's a mutual thing between the actor and the writer. I mean, the actor would have to agree with it; otherwise it's just being mean, IMO.

that should have had a bigger actress play Judy Borden but then that would not fit the character of Vinny who would not date someone overweight which means the fat joke was basically not needed

Judy was cute and she wasn't fat. She had butt and was also busty, so she wasn't stick thin, she had a womanly body ! Also she was tiny, not very tall and short girls tend to look a little heavier if they aren't real skinny thin. But she had a really good body, curvy but not fat !

The 70's was when that anorexia started , where girls who weren't even fat thought they were and some literally starved themselves to death (like the singer Karen Carpenter) , so this really wasn't a good message to send to young girl viewers by saying Judy was fat just because she wasn't stick thin!

That is the thing on the show the majority of the girls were beautiful very thin girls so compared to them she stuck out. That is not really realistic at all, but most all shows do that.
