Default METV does need some more improving to do

I noticed that METV while awesome needs to improve their programming a bit more. Like I can never understand why METV has a long marathon of Gilligan's Island on Saturdays and they should show only two episodes of Gilligan's Island and put two The Love Boat episodes instead. A second thing that METV could do is add shows like Hazel and Taxi instead of showing so many westerns and that would gain more viewers to METV. What happened to sitcoms such as Car 54 Where Are You and The Lucy Show being shown on sitcom channels anymore and Car 54 Where Are You and The Lucy Show would be a great fit for METV. And they should be showing some of the 80's sitcoms such as Webster and Gimme A Break Just The Ten Of Us and Charles In Charge and that should improve METV more. METV is truly awesome but just like when people try new foods in restaurants METV should have an expanded sitcom menu

As much as I dislike westerns, I doubt MeTV will make many if any changes in the fall. "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

A couple of the shows Bestie mentioned (like Hazel) are on Antenna TV, so MeTV would have no access to them.

The one interesting thing that happened several months ago was that a one time showing of The Monkees resulted in such high ratings, that they picked up the show.

I think the hours of Westerns should be cut down a bit in favor of mystery shows, 80s block with shows airing during that decade & classic movie nights because Bonanza, Trackdown & Maverick should be taken off from the Saturday schedule and Hogan Heroes should move out of the Weeknight primetime schedule.

I voted cut out the westerns. But adding more mysteries and Lucy shows would be good too. Also I'd like to see the old classic cop shows that METV used to show like Streets of San Francisco and Mod Squad come back again!!

I agree strongly! But it probably won’t happen because of this whole stupid ratings business.

Plus they can't rest them because of the shows being under contract. I have heard that both M*A*S*H and Hogan's Heroes are both under long term contracts.

Once you agree (via contract) to broadcast a certain TV Show on a channel you can't simply just drop it.

I'm pretty much done watching the retro channels because I have DVD's of my favorite shows and can watch them whenever I like. So whatever schedules the retro channels come up with doesn't really matter to me because I don't watch them anyway. I used to watch Antenna TV occasionally but now I seldom tune in to the channel.

I call it DOGSHET DIGITAL TV due to the amount of westerns

Plus the sunday afternoon schedule makes no sense in how it airs one show from the 90's then all the shows that follow are from the 60's

I disagree with all the choices in the poll. They would all make it worse, not better.

The great TV westerns are usually among the best dramatic series ever done on TV. They're character driven and hold up to repeated viewings (like great sitcoms), and have devoted fans.

Mysteries are built on gimmicks like old guy, fat guy, bland characters, and once you know "who done it" there's little else there to keep viewers coming back. Good theme songs and nothing else.

Gilligan's Island holds up with a lot of fans. It's stood the test of time.

Other than I Love Lucy, Lucy's other shows don't hold up well for most viewers. Not even most of Lucy's fans.

The 80s were the worst decade ever for sitcoms. They're the cheapest looking, most outdated, worst written, worst acted sitcoms ever done on TV. Most of them have little to no appeal to anyone who didn't grow up watching them.

There are enough classic movies available on TV, and MeTV doesn't need to take time away from showing classic TV to show 'em. If they were able to get classic TV movies that never get shown anymore, that would be worth it.

Nothing against Bestie, I just disagree with most of those choices. I do agree about Taxi and Car 54.
