Did Quantum Leap draw inspiration from Doctor Who?

I seem to think that Quantum Leap was inspired by Doctor Who because if you ever watched Quantum Leap the storyline was a copy of Doctor Who because like Doctor Who the character goes back in time to different times in history and when I noticed this I think BBC should've sued NBC for copying Doctor Who before Quantum Leap even came on the air. It's no wonder you don't see Quantum Leap reruns on TV anymore and I think NBC should've known that this series was done before on BBC

Actually Quantum Leap has been on TV as reruns on Cozi TV in the recent past along with several other cable channels. I doubt BBC would have a case against NBC. Sorry but, it's Kind of silly to suggest that BBC should sue NBC over supposedly copying Doctor Who.

I like Quantum Leap. It's a great show and it's much better than most of the modern day garbage you see on TV today.
