I was watching an episode today, and it was interesting how Kate treated her daughters differently in the same situation. Betty Jo had lost her voice when Uncle Joe walked into the room. Both she and Billie Jo labeled Uncle Joe a jinx. They were both saying how he was a jinx, and actually Billie Jo's ridicule of him is worse than Betty Jo's. However, Kate says nothing to Billie Jo. She lets her say what she wants. But, Kate warns Betty Jo that if she doesn't stop calling Uncle Joe a jinx that she will not only lose her voice but will also lose her seating capacity. Lol. She never said a thing to Billie Jo.

LOL - good observation. Of course, that was the sassy, Jeannine Riley version of Billie Jo, and she was treated more as an adult.
