I admit to being guilty of this, especially since I'm replying to this 2002 thread in 2019! However, I have gone through almost every page and it's crazy to see the same topics over and over again. There should be a way to merge these so that the forum doesn't have 175 pages of the same thing. Just a suggestion. That's why I always go back and see if the topic has been created before I create a new one.

But don't you think it's better creating a new topic on the discussion with people who are here rather than replying to people who haven't posted on this board or site in over a decade?

I'll admit one reason I hate seeing these old threads come up is because it reminds me of the ones who used to post here years ago. Sitcoms Online was like IMDb. These message boards were hopping. Chit Chat had so many topics flowing with either drama or fun conversations and of the sitcom message boards, this one was the hottest to be on. It's just sad seeing how all the ones who brought so much life into the board have gone away over the years. I know the regular ones here now do their best to keep it thriving but it's still not the same. Plus it's sad being reminded how eventually you lose contact with ones you used to chat with almost every day on here. In less than two years it'll be my 20th anniversary on here. There was a huge group of people I used to chat with on here back when I first started and now I have no clue whatever happened with them because they left. So yeah that's the real reason I hate when newbies bump up old stuff.

I see both sides: bumping threads to see names that will never reappear feels very sad. And yet, there are some cool threads from olden times which have some interesting conversations.

Well I've been here a while but I honestly don't like seeing so many repetitive threads. I wish there was a way they could be strung together or something b/c it was kind of unnerving going through 177 pages of posts where over 50% of them were repetitive but that's just me. And when I do bump up old threads, I never go through and read all the previous replies. I just post my own reply and go from there.

Oh, they were on fire-hopping!

Is it really? Sorry, I'm just thinking of when we fans who were eager to just discuss the series as a whole were a tiny minority trying to stay afloat amidst the tsunami of the Nancy McKeon Brigade.

Eh, I did what I could from May 2018 - May 2019. I had a lot of fun "hanging out" here again for a whole year.

This from the guy who wagged his finger at me saying there was no need to mention how far our time on this board went!

I never participated in the Nancy fandom here because she's not the reason I'm a fan of this show. There were more than just Nancy threads during that time. That's all you or others on here choose to remember, but there were more discussions on this show than just Nancy by many fans. I remember a group of us doing role playing games and discussing topics from episodes of all seasons and not just season one. It was good times that went by too soon.
