The songs on The Alvin Show were public domain. Ergo, no excuse not to release all 26 episodes on DVD at all.
As for which one I prefer? Well, that would be the latter. |

I grew-up with "Alvin and the Chipmunks", but I like "The Alvin Show" as well...but I give the nod to "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

I grew up on Saturday morning cartoons in the 80s so for obvious reasons I like Alvin & The Chipmunks better, the animation was superior. I didn't discover the old The Alvin Show until years later and was shocked they had been around that long.

Both are great! I grew up with Alvin & The Chipmunks in the '80s, so I would probably have to go with that series- but I like Alvin and the gang in general. Any of their series are great- even the movies aren't too bad (not the greatest in the world- but cute enough.)
