Wildwood Grove, the new 5-acre area of Dollywood opens to the public today! I wish I could be there for the event. Dolly will be there today and tomorrow and make several appearances, weather permitting.
The Dollywood app has updated the park map with the new area but attractions aren’t listed as of today...

I plan on going sometime this year but not sure when. It’ll probably be in September or October....or maybe August 3 (the last Saturday of the Summer fireworks). I might wait and see if Dolly is making more appearances this year and plan around that. It’s actually MOSTLY rides and only 1 shop. Rides: Dragonflier Black Bear Trail (kiddie ride) Frogs & Fireflies (kiddie ride) Great Tree Swing The Mad Mockingbird Treetop Tower There’s meet and greet characters: Benjamin Bear, Franklin Frog, and Flit & Flutter (fairies) “Till & Harvest” is a new eatery. “Hidden Hollow” is indoor kid-friendly activities. “Mountain Grove Merchants” is a new shop. “Sweets and Treats” sweet stand. And the beautiful Wildwood Tree:

I’m planning on going August 3. I need to save up about $500 in order to spend the night in a hotel and get up the next morning and come home. I only live 3 hours away so it’s not too bad. Of course, I’ll want to buy LOTS of souvenirs!!
It’s expensive to go: Gas approx. $30 Ticket approx. $85 with taxes Parking fee $15 Food $30 Souvenirs $130 or so Hotel for 1-night $208 with taxes (I called and got a quote from hotel I always stay at when I visit) I so wanna see that Wildwood tree all lit up at night and ride the Great Tree Swing & Dragonflier! |

Found a good deal online for tickets. Got one for $48 instead of the $85 normal price. Saved $37 that can go towards more souvenirs!
