The house looked totally different in season 3.

By Season 3, the show was filming in California. So Brooklyn Heights started looking a lot like California.

Probably not but, for all the viewers knew about Patty and Ross's Mom, Natalie could have been an heiress to a great fortune (or at least enough inherited enough to have afforded such a spacious, luxurious abode at such a prime address)! But while we learned all about Martin and Kenneth being twins and their careers, we never learned anything about Natalie's premarital life or family (much less how Martin managed to snag her)!
