Oooo, "Why were you so mean? Why were you such a bully? What did you get out of it?"---loved the way she said that with such confidence!
Love her encouragement at the end, too. Gosh..."Molly" from FOL and "Heather" from Mr. Belvedere, both having to change schools to escape bullying...well, they sure came out on top! We love you, Molly! You will forever be "Molly Parker" in Lost Girls fans' hearts!

She did indeed. She was on the cover of Time Magazine and Life Magazine in the same month. At that time, there was no bigger indication of status than those magazines.
'80s, you make a good point about "Heather" also being bullied. Looking back, now, on stars' reflections and also media from that time (The Breakfast Club, Little Darlings, etc), it's clear to see that bullying was just so much more accepted in that era: one of the dark aspects of the 1980s. In some ways, the '80s were the "bad ole days". We can look back with nostalgia, but we need to recall that not everything was rosy in that era. |

![]() If that had been me, I would have known that making the cover of Time was a huge deal, but I definitely would have been more excited to be on a pop culture teen magazine cover. Quote:

There it is!
I was saying what Molly has said in interviews. That she knew "Time" was a big deal, but making the cover of "Seventeen" was WAY more exciting. And I would have felt the same as a teen, lol. Quote:

I think even at 16 or 17, I would have been more thrilled making the cover of Time. But I can see how Molly might feel otherwise. Still, I can't name ten people who have graced the cover of Seventeen; I can for Time.

Both Heather and Molly were beautiful and talented. No doubt they would attract some jealousy.

Thanks Opus. The only book I have in common with Molly is Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. Quote:
I can't believe they keep bringing up Molly's god-awful book as an example of her literary prowess. I have never read anything as shallow and vapid in my life. And I say that as a fan. |

She was quite the role model so I really like this. It makes people who grew up with her realize that she was real and that bullying is a real problem. I wish that it had been thought of as a problem when I was growing up.
