There is a sitcom episode where a female character is preparing to audition as a sportscaster, and in preparation is watching a tape of the 1988 World Series and "caling" Kirk Gibson's famous at-bat. Does anyone know that show and episode? I thought it might be from Major Dad, but I can't tell from the episode descriptions on wikipedia.

There was a Who’s The Boss episode where Sam competed with Tony for a sportscaster job. Maybe that one?

Off the top of my head, there was a short-lived sitcom called Good Sports, where Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal played sportscasters, who I think were once married to one another on the show.
There was also an episode of Step by Step where Carol tried out to become a sportscaster, stealing the job from a very nervous Frank. |

Baseball season starting up again made me think of this. You ever track down the episode?

there was a "Seinfeld" episode where Kramer promised a kid in the hospital that one of the New York Yankees would hit a home run; so he could get something for George that he (Kramer) accidentally gave to the kid. Could that be it?

Didn't Gibson do a voice on The Simpsons?
