Default Do you consider Sophia to be one of the Golden Girls?

Just curious, b/c I notice the younger 3 often leave Sophia out of so much. Mainly I think b/c Sophia was 1 generation removed from the other 3 and she seemed to have her own circle of friends...Much of Sophia's life did not involve the other 3 as well.

I often thought they could have done a spin-off featuring Sophia, Mildred and some of the other friends she talked about and called it The Silver Girls lol

Absolutely! And furthermore, she’s a Golden Oldie- pun intended!

Honestly I used to sorta feel sorry for Sophia about how the other 3 left her out a lot... I actually liked how Sophia left them in jail for a night for automatically deciding she would have to be the one to sit out the concert! And if I remember right in the Christmas episode, they are ALL wishing each other a merry Christmas, but no one wishes Sophia one.

It just almost seems like to me Sophia had her own life and own friends OUTSIDE from the other 3, she just happens to be living with them.

Yes but she gave as good as she got. What was the alternative anyway, apart from Shady Pines?

Oh I think Sophia was independent enough to live alone if she wanted to... She was just in Shady Pines to recover from a stroke, but she seemed to have made a full recovery.

Yes, she was a GG.

But she was a generation older, so she was left out of some things.

Sophia is legit one of my favorite TV characters of all time. I don't see why anyone would think Sophia is not one of the Girls?

Yes, I think Sophia was a GG but I think she could have lived on her own. If I remember correctly there was an episode where she moved out and into a much nicer place with another roommate who was more her age.

I like how Blanche and Rose went to Sophia for advice with Dorothy not knowing about it sometimes.
