Default NickRewind: A Nick at Nite Rebrand Proposal

Dear Brian,

I have a proposal for Nickelodeon: as you may know, 2019 will mark FORTY years since the launch of Nickelodeon on April 1, 1979--NOT an early April Fool's Joke.

That being said, in honor of that Momentous occasion, it's my Humblest suggestion that Nickelodeon rebrand Nick at Nite into NickRewind, to take effect on July 1, 2019.

As far as current Nick at Nite Programming e.g. "Mom," "King of Queens," "The Office" and "George Lopez," I suggest that those Nick at Nite Acquisitions move over to sister network TV Land effective July 1.

In its present, idea stage, NickRewind is THE exclusive home to Classic Nickelodeon Programming from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, from "Double Dare" to "Legends of the Hidden Temple," "Nick Arcade" to "You Can't Do That on Television," and recent hits from "Drake & Josh" to "Zoey 101."

7 nights a week from 9 P.M. to 7 A.M. ET on Nickelodeon, NickRewind shall include the following Inaugural Lineup, separated from Monday-Thursdays, Fridays and Weekends, with Friday nights devoted entirely to U-Pick Rewind, where a LUCKY Home Viewer such as Myself controls the entire lineup every Friday night starting July 5, 2019 from 9 P.M. to 7 A.M. ET.

And now, here's an Inaugural Lineup Proposal for NickRewind on Nickelodeon.

Monday-Thursdays
9 P.M. Double Dare Classic (1986-2000 Episodes)
9:30 P.M. Legends of the Hidden Temple
10 P.M. You Can't Do That On Television
10:30 P.M. Hey Dude
11 P.M. All That
11:30 P.M. Kenan & Kel
12 A.M. The Amanda Show
12:30 A.M. Drake & Josh
1 A.M. Hey Arnold
1:30 A.M. CatDog
2 A.M. Rugrats
2:30 A.M. Doug
3 A.M. Mr. Wizard's World
3:30 A.M. Welcome Freshman
4 A.M. Nickelodeon GUTS
4:30 A.M. Get the Picture
5 A.M. Nick Arcade
5:30 A.M. Zoey 101
6 A.M. Wild & Crazy Kids
6:30 A.M. Double Dare Classic (1986-2000 Episodes)

Fridays
9 P.M.-7 A.M. U-Pick Rewind

Saturdays-Sundays
9 P.M. What Would You Do?
9:30 P.M. Wild & Crazy Kids
10 P.M. Welcome Freshmen
10:30 P.M. Get the Picture
11 P.M. Spongebob Squarepants
11:30 P.M. Rugrats
12 A.M. Doug
12:30 A.M. The Wild Thornberrys
1 A.M. Rocket Power
1:30 A.M. Nickelodeon GUTS
2 A.M. Unfabulous
2:30 A.M. Zoey 101
3 A.M. Hey Arnold
3:30 A.M. Hey Dude
4 A.M. You Can't Do That On Television
4:30 A.M. Make the Grade
5 A.M. Double Dare Classic (1986-2000 Episodes)
5:30 A.M. The Amanda Show
6 A.M. Drake & Josh
6:30 A.M. What Would You Do?

Does this sound great or what? Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Steve Arino

This is very well written and thought out! Nice job! I love how you have Double Dare & You Can’t Do That On Television.Would love to see also Finders Keepers & Nick Arcade & Muppet Babies & Salute Your Shorts.

Where would Shows like Lassie & Dennis the Menace & The Monkee’s & The Brady Bunch that also was on NICKELODEON? Where would they appear on the Schedule?

It would be nice if the name “NICK at NITE” Returns to TVLand! Referring to TVLand’s NITETIME Programming. Rebranding it as TVLand’s NICK at NITE or NICK at NITE’s TVLand.

stevearino, that was a good proposed Nick Rewind schedule that you just created; it would be better if Figure It Out was on here as well as Finders Keepers, SK8TV, Think Fast, Clarissa Explains It All, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Are You Afraid of The Dark? & other some old Nick Shows from the 80s & the 90s.

I agree with this thought, although his proposal only goes back into the 80s. Maybe they could have an Old Fashioned Block Party some night, like Friday or Saturday, and go back to the 60s and 70s. DTM, Bradys, My Three Sons, etc. But even as it is, this idea is better than N@N is now!

I think it was in 2004 they celebrated their 25th anniv. with classic shows. I think I still have it on VHS. It extended over onto TV Land. It had all the clever stuff Nick at Nite used to have...it was great!

While I agree it's very written, you do realize that sitcomsonline is a fan site right? There are currently no TV staff or any crew working on sitcomsonline, but maybe you know how to send Viacom this mail?

I just read on this page that Nickelodeon will actually have a real NickRewind channel coming soon. It will take the place of the channel formerly known as NickSplat.

Nice going! I can't believe Nickelodeon acted that fast! I wonder if there are other channels that you would like to see changed. I can think of plenty myself but chances are you have never heard of them.

The name change took place on March 15th, this thread was started on March 18th. It seems to me that Stevearino got wind of the name change somehow and then drew up this proposal to make it look like he had submitted the idea beforehand. This is not the first of these proposals he's come up with, there's been quite a few and most all under different aliases. I will agree that it was very well thought out and written, but there's no way anyone is going to convince me that the name change or anything else was the result of his letter.

Not trying to burst your bubble, but it’s not going to happen and there’s no Nick execs here to read it.

People have been trying to campaign for a classic Nick channel for decades, but the closest we ever got was Nick GAS and Nick has only done blocks, digital releases and DVDs of their older shows. No channel.

I don’t think they see that this would be lucrative for them, but it does have better potential than TeenNick wasteland.

NickSplat is not channel. It’s a block on TeenNick. The block is changing it’s name to NickRewind. Not becoming a full blown channel.
