I could have included a few more titles but when the list reached over 400 songs I thought I'd stop and draw the line there.

I like Carefree Highway, didn't make my list but nice follow up hit for Gordon Lightfoot after Sundown.

For 1979, I can give another honorable mention to Suzi Quatro for the song She's In Love With You. It wasn't a big hit, only reached #41 on Billboard but I've always liked the song.

Chuck E's In Love, I used to dislike that song too but I guess I've heard it enough times over the years to the point where I now like it.

The problem with 1979 is that there was too much disco on the charts, but there were still some good songs around that year. 1979 was sort of a pop music transition year from the sound of the 70's to what pop music would become in the 80's.
