Oh wow. So very sad and tragic! I was so hoping the stroke wasn't as bad as they first thought and being he wasn't old that he would recover and be OK! My God hearing that he passed away is so sad and shocking ! I loved 90210 ! Was a really big fan of Luke. He was great as Dylan ! May he RIP! Such a shame for his family and friends! Prayers to them!

Sad news. In his latest pictures he looks a full 10 years older than he actually was. I wonder if hard living when he was younger caught up with him.

So sad. He was a year younger than me. Used to watch him all the time on 90210. R.I.P. Luke.

So sad. Big fan of 90120 and of his work. I also remember he guest starred on “Body of Proof”. He was too young and it makes me think about my own health. I hope they dedicate an episode to him in the reboot.

At least now they have a logical reason for bringing all the old characters back together in the reboot. They can have the first episode be Dylan's funeral while dedicating the episode to Luke Perry. I actually think it would be a perfect opener and a nice way to pay respects to both the character and actor.

I had the same thought in mind.

The only thing i'm wary about with this reboot is that I read that the actors won't be playing the same characters from the show, but "heightened versions of their old characters", whatever the heck that means.

Either stay true to the original characters or don't bother doing it at all. Perhaps Perry's death will cause the producers to drop that "heightened version" idea and just have it be a normal continuation of the series with everyone back in their normal 90210 characters.

I'd like to see the original same characters, but I just hope it doesn't become too much of a soap again, like the second half of the series run.

I think it can focus on the six characters and some transition of people in their families. Maybe it could be tried as a dramadies series. Basically lighter than the original series, but not exactly a sitcom with a laugh track either.

When I heard the phrase "massive stroke" on the initial headline, I suspected something like this was coming.

I wonder how a person in his early 50s would suffer a fatal stroke. An autopsy would have determined this. If none is performed on Luke Perry, then this is what I get for thinking Hollywood needs a wellness policy.

It turns out that if a celebrity dies before age 65, he or she is "too good to last".

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

I'm no doctor, but just looking at recent pics of him, you can clearly see he was a heavy smoker. His face had that smokers look with the ashen pall and too many wrinkles for such a young age. He looked a good 10 years older than 52. So it's my guess his smoking contributed to his stroke. I wouldn't be shocked if we learn he smoked 2 packs a day.
