When there were basically three networks to choose from every night...and we still have more to choose from, quality wise.

Isn't that the truth! Of course we didn't have any means of recording programming until the late 1970s (At this time the first VCRs went for $2,500.00 (I didn't my first VCR until Christmas, 1984 ). I didn't get my first big-screen TV until 2005.

(In the mid 1970s big-screen "projection" TVs cost more than my father's new Mercury Marquis! It's amazing how times have changed since then. Today you can get a DVD/VHS recorder, a region-free DVD player and a blue-ray player, with all three devices hooked up to a 36-inch HDTV for a wallet-busting $300.00.
