Default The key to the facts of life from three '70s properties

If you take the visuals from two 1970s television series and one reading 1970s readiness program, you indeed get the key to "the facts of life" just as its theme song tells us:

The center is Mr. R himself from The Letter People*, and the right is a show actually called "All About You"! It starred Louise McNamara in the 1970s, a very nice lady who told you all about your body and how it works. (well, told kids, anyway, lol...I remember watching it in kindergarten, and at home. It was a calm blue room with nice green plants)

*in Letter People Land, Mr. R's sound is the same sound that starts "Ripping Rubber Bands", as evidenced by his "photograph", lol.

The theme song sounds very familiar, but I can't remember the show itself. Looks somewhat similar to Romper Room, with the calming, quiet set.

Yup, I always loved that theme song. Another old school PBS gem of a show. Oh, and if you haven't, I suggest going to about 14:08 and watching the closing credits with the ending theme. We'll still be here!

Haha interesting! My favorite PBS show was ZOOM, which was first on in the 70's. The 90s reboot I'm more familiar with obviously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWovTxC-KPY

I have no memory of the original show, but Wikipedia says it originally featured a cast of seven kids; among them was a character named Nancy, who was discontinued after the second season!

Well they were all real kids and the cast changed every season. The most kids were on the original show was two seasons. The 90's version had one who was on for four seasons though.

This sort of gives you an idea how many seasons each person was on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_kXdYDv3Mo

Good question. I'm sure there are way more Nancys on TV than there used to be.

At the time that FOL originally aired, there were only a few TV networks: NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS were the main networks. Fox started in 1986. Cable TV was operational, but many of those channels mostly just aired repeats of the networks' series, at that time. So there were fewer characters of all names than there is now.

I remember a time when Nancy Olson and Nancy Oleson were both on NBC.

The one Nancy I can think of now is Nancy Grace, who I do not like.
