One of the most interesting cases ever presented on UM was the Sammy Wheeler murder. The 3 main suspects kept pointing fingers at each other but as it turned the killer was Guy Price, who I have no idea how he was connected to Sammy Wheeler. My theory before the murder was solved was that one of the 3 suspects (most likely Bob Bean) hired someone to murder Sammy Wheeler. Anyways was it ever officially mentioned what the motive for Sammy Wheelers murder was? I've heard different theories such as robbery, thrill kill, and accident meaning he just shotthe vehicle not knowing anybody was inside. And there is also speculation that Bob Bean hired Guy Price. I believe it was mentioned that Guy Price was in the military with Bob Beans Dad. So I would love to know what you guys know about the official motive for Sammys murder. Perhaps LE doesn't necessarily know the motive. Your thoughts?

It was an attempted robbery/thrill kill.
Guy Jackson Price was 23 years old when he killed Sammy, so I'm going guess he was too young to serve with Bean's dad. |

Yeah, I recall this case seeming rather mysterious many years ago when I first saw it. Over the years it became almost comical (not the murder of course, but the segment and interviews in it). I just remember it dawning on me at one point, this whole segment is just these 3 people point the finger back and forth at each other. But yeah, in the end it was just a random murder. Probably robbery IMO. At the very least they caught the guilty party. So in the end maybe the family can at least rest easy. But still sad they lost a loved one though.

"There's not an ounce of truth in those accusations. If she married my brother, she was going to be like a sister to me, and our family don't go for incest. She never once physically attracted me, even before my brother got with her. I didn't think she was a good-looking woman."

Craziest case they ever had-all three people came across guilty as hell & all had a motive for killing him. Yet it ended up being a random pair of cretins who didn't even know him.

Bob Bean in particular reminds me of the weird looking guys from those stranger danger PSA's in the 80's who tried to lure little kids in to his car with a piece of candy. |
