Default Who are your favorite parents of the girls?

Of all the parents of the girls we got to see visit (it was always a highlight to me as a kid to see a "Facts" girl's mom or dad walk through that cafeteria arch to come visit), who were your favorites? What do you love about them?

Poll choices are in chronological order.

Great topic!

I think my favorite parent is Jo's dad. Sure, he messed up his life, and the whole family's lives, but he honestly was trying to make amends.

Molly's father is probably my next favorite. He has more love for Molly than three of Blair's fathers.

There are things I like about both Monica and Prototype Monica, but things I don't like as well. They both seemed abusive in some ways. At least Prototype Monica recommends drinking plenty of milk, which is good advice.

Mr. Warner seems quite absentee, but not as much as Tootie's parents, who seem very bossy on the rare occasion they actually see their daughter. And of course Alexandra's parents are very disappointing.

I don't like Natalie's mom.

Mr. Branch, Nina's father, seems kinda sleazy.

Alas, we never see Cindy's parents, or Nancy's, or Sue Ann's, though we know Sue Ann's mother is 41 in 1980.

Right?? Not praising myself, I just think it's a topic that hasn't really been broached here before, and we have to have opinions on the parents.

That's interesting. I've never thought of Monica (the real Monica, #2) as "abusive".

Alright, I voted for Molly's dad, and Jo's mom and dad. I'd forgotten to mention Rose in my previous post, and that woman was a saint.

It definitely deserves some discussion, so kudos!

I feel like... she waltzes into Blair's life when it's convenient for her, or when she needs help, but where was she during all of Blair's big events? Even Prototype Monica came to Parents' Night. Monica 2.0 never did that, as far as I recall.

And that Monica even was bad-mouthing her ex in front of Blair.

I guess I can understand it sometimes, like when she finds out in front of Blair that Blair's father won't make it to her graduation---oo, there ya go Retro, Monica did come to her graduation, lol. I do like it how she and Blair find some more closeness when Monica comes first to town in "A Friend in Need".

Because I love Evie. She reminds me in some ways of my own mother. So you saying she doesn't like her sounds in a way like you don't like my mom, haha. I also feel so bad for her during this scene-stopping exchange:

Evie: "Natalie, I'm your mother -- "

Natalie: "Not my real mother! "

Tootie: "Natalie! "

Natalie: "Well she's not! You adopted a stranger and I'm still just a stranger to you! "

Evie:

Evie is one of my favorites because of the type of person she is (some of that is in Rose as well, who also reminds me a bit of my mom).

Monica is one of the ones who I remember most vividly from childhood. I kinda remember Dr. Green and David Warner from those formative years, but I really remember Monica.

WHAAAAAT? Why not? We need details.

Justin Branch - Nina's dad (season 1): No! A cheater and scumbag!
"Prototype" Monica Warner - Blair's mom: I always had a soft spot for her, tbh.
Mr. Ramsey - Tootie's dad (season 1): He was too hard on Mrs. G.
Dr. Parker - Molly's dad (season 1): I liked him, he was a good guy.
Charlie Polniaczek - Jo's dad: He was definitely trying to make up for his mistakes.
Monica Warner - Blair's mom (season 2, on): Wasn't she in season 3 on? She was OK but I don't like the way she yelled at Geri! I get she had a looming diagnosis but REALLY?
Dr. Green - Natalie's dad: Only time we see him he's cheating and then POOF dead.
Evie Green - Natalie's mom: I thought she was cute, I like her.
David Warner - Blair's dad: When do we see him? Do we ever?
Rose Polniaczek - Jo's mom: I think she might be my favorite. She's hardworking but always so supportive and loving.
Diane Ramsey - Tootie's mom: I liked her, Tootie seemed hard on her.
Kevin McKenna - Pippa's dad: Im not there yet, but Im guessing he's Australian?

I know, right? I'm not saying he should change his opinion, it's just that it's such a surprise!

Maybe he had a really bad experience with a cello or a set of encyclopedia!
