Oh No Laff is now showing recent movies

Well, this is not good. I'm looking at the current Laff schedule at the moment and not a lot of old movies are being shown these next coming weeks at all. All I see are nothing but movies from 2015 and even 2018, very little old films.

Looks like this is starting to be the downfall for the network.

They may be recent, but they're direct to dvd/made for tv movies you see on like ABC Family or Ion. Plus they mostly show movies when people are asleep, so meh.

You're right, but they really should be showing more old movies and not newer ones in my opinion.

It’s a network called Laff. They should be showing funny movies. New or old doesn’t matter.

I hardly watch Laff. Once in a while I'll take a look but that's it.

However they would be a lot better if they concentrated mostly on shows made before the 1990s.Kind of like MeTV and Antenna TV do,only with laff it would be strictly comedy shows.Maybe also show a couple of classic Britcoms.I think the channel would also do better.I would watch it.As far as them showing new movies I agree it is a stupid decision on their part. With movies they should really go classic, mainly films from the 1970s and before is what they should be showing.

Laff showed a lot of old movies, so it would make sense for them to show those kinds of films. Not new ones.

I stop watching Laff when I went through one cycle of Home Improvement and when they took off Ellen and Empty Nest. Now they are taking off Grounded for Life. I'm glad Grounded for Life is on Pluto TV. I just wish they get the rights to Ellen and Empty Nest too.

LAFF airs a lot of That 70s Show already, have aired Grounded for Life from the 2000s, and According to Jim is their main addition this year, so they aren't exactly a retro network like Antenna TV or MeTV. And the only pre-90s sitcom they have left is Night Court.

Also, they weren't really a retro network to begin with. Remember, they showed Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza (2011) on Saturdays when the network first launched.

EDIT/Correction: Improv-A-Ganza premiered and ended in 2011.

You know what that means, the next time they pick up another show, Night Court will be on the chopping block.

Also, this. I remember they used to show St. Elmo's Fire and Risky Business a lot. There's more drama in those movies than humor.

Looks like Laff lost the rights to the Disney movie library stuff so they are showing some crap made by independent companies, they are the same films you can find for free on stuff like Amazon Prime or others.

Now that makes more sense to me as in why there are hardly any old films are being shown at all anymore.

It's probably very most likely due to the new Disney streaming service coming this year.
