Respire (2010) on DVD

A doctor during the 1930's is investigating the ancient Roman practice of "breath capturing" where they said that the soul of a person leaves the body after their final breath. It is believed that the captured souls have the power to cure terminal illness and prolong life when taken in by a living person.

There is a nasty side effect in that the patients taking in the souls will also take over the personality traits of the deceased. Since the only willing test subjects the doctor had were condemned inmates and mental patients, things don't go so well.

For a totally independent film starring a bunch of nobodies, this was actually decent.

Judge Dredd (1995) on DVD

It had its moments that I do like, but overall it's not really that good.

Comic fans at the time hated that Judge Dredd removed his helmet; something that he didn't do in the comics. The studio didn't want a high-profile actor (Stallone) having his face covered for the whole movie.

Stallone called the film "a missed opportunity" years later saying that there were arguments over the direction of the film; if it should be more comedy or more serious.

Gianni Versaci designed Dredd's outfit for the film.
