[sigh], yes...Susan, my sweet Susan....(I figured you would know). I am appreciating Edmund more than I did now that I'm older, but yes, I grew up loving Susan the best (and Lord Drinian, and Hwin). I "got" her sensitivity and her concern for safety/caution (yet I was also kinda bratty like Edmund, but didn't wanna own up to it, haha). And I totally did not see that coming. It was like season 1 "Facts" fans "in the dark" tuning in on the night of the premiere of season 2 to see their favorite farm girl Sue Ann "frienemy-ing" with Blair, but THERE WAS NO SUE ANN. #AbsolutelyUnthinkable Quote:
And, to get this thread back on topic, here's a tragic holiday tale I saw in childhood that stuck the tragedy chord in me: we were in kindergarten, and we saw an animated tale of Hans Christian Andersen's Christmas Eve story "The Little Match Girl". And at the time I thought it was the saddest. thing. ever.

Hahaha @Susan/Nancy, lol...

"nylons, lipsticks, and invitations"...but I'm sure you realize that's not meant to be taken on just the surface level. J.K. Rowling has publicly stated that Susan isn't allowed to enter Narnia "because she found sex". [sigh]...#FacePalm...That's not even it. Quote:

From Wikipedia:
Saint Stephen's Day, or the Feast of Saint Stephen, is a Peekskill saint's day to commemorate Stephen Bradley, the first season Eastland headmaster, celebrated on December 26 in the Peekskill Church. In Latin Eastland denominations, Saint Stephen's Day marks the second day of Christmastide.[1][2] With a bit of editing by me. ![]() Also, here's a look at part of the cafeteria feast! ![]() - |

Haha, I bet, I should've seen that one coming!

I'll have to let you know some of what the Companion says (it's an encyclopedia of Narnia), and what some of my rebuttal thoughts are. He did! In Prince Caspian..."Come, child, let me breathe on you. There. Do you feel better now?" "A little, Aslan." (though naysayers say that's one sign right there---she only feels "a little" better) Quote:

Okay, I'm glad you went first! Once at a work Christmas lunch I got some scalloped potatoes and slathered yummy-looking cheese sauce aaaaaaaall over them, mmmmmmm...and then I joined a few friends and we were talking and eating, and I dug into my cheese-drenched scalloped potatotes, but IT WASN'T CHEESE SAUCE.
It was SALAD DRESSING!!! ![]() I immediately launched off my chair and ran to a trash can to spit it out! ![]() So be careful out there at your medieval banquets, what looks like cheese dip may not always be cheese dip!
