I don't care about it, but my wife is really interested in it. I'm gonna try to take her to see it.

I’m not a fan of remakes but I do want to see this.

Yes! Although I do like remakes, generally the original is better!! I saw a trailer for Mary Poppins returns and it does look really good. Very cute, like it retained the wholesomeness! !

I was confused from the ads and promos if this was meant to be a remake or a sequel.

I'd say it's a sequel as the kids are now grown up and have kids themselves or maybe it's just one of them that does..

That being said, the wife and daughter are going to see it, it's a mother/daughter night out. I don't mind sitting this movie out, I'm curious to see it, but I can wait for the small screen.

That is a sweet Mother/ Daughter event!! My Hub isn't interested , I will be going with my movie going Friend and maybe her Granddaughter!

IDK , in response to you and James, I kinda think you two are right but one thing baffles me? I thought I read where it takes place in depression era England! Oh OK well the original took place before that right, around the turn of the century I guess, so yeah now it makes sense!

Yep!! I think so too!! It will be pretty hard to fill Julie Andrews shoes, but I think Emily will be able to pull it off pretty good!! Also Dick Van Dyke will be in this movie! ! How cool is that?? And Angela Lansbury too!! I'm really looking forward to this!!!!

The wife and daughter saw it last night, both said they enjoyed it, but it was no where as good as the original.

I always liked Mary Poppins but watching the trailer it just seemed like a rehash. After listening to some reviews I found out my assumption was correct.
