***MAJOR SPOILERS OF ORIGINAL SCRIPT***

Wait, wait, wait...

Molly Ringw"o"ld?

Julie Anne "P"addock??

Speaking of Julie Anne "P"addock, lol, sadly there's nothing new about my Cindy here, but boy are there are plenty of Molly nuggets! (in fact, Cindy will have more lines in the aired show, with additions such as "Blair's luggage!" and urging Mrs. Garrett to get her fanny moving, haha)

Ooo, Molly's dad and potential stepmother weren't yet cast, and her mother actually had a part??? (didn't she, Lorimar??

)

Looks like Nancy has a flaw! She may be all about tidying and organizing, but according to this script, she does put the same emphasis on laundry! lol

Oo, a cut line about Tootie's skates!

Interestingly, Mrs. Garrett says she can't lie to Molly's father, but then immediately does.

I love how in the air show she "thrusts" the phone at Molly, repeatedly, and Molly won't budge. That gets Mrs. Garrett stuck to where she feels she has no choice but to lie at the moment.

"He got bored with marriage and moved out" --- interesting! I don't think that detail is in Molly's aired ramble.

"Someone answer Molly! I'll run after the phone!"

[beat]

"You know what I mean."

hahaha, I love that! So "Mrs. Garrett"! :-)

And Molly bolts out the patio door, but would change to the front door. Interesting (to an uber "Facts" geek like me, lol).

Bucky Beaver?!? Hahaha! And there had just been a Bucky Beaver reference a year earlier in Grease!---but that was set in 1959!

Wow, I've never seen BB referenced anywhere else ever!

"You're only a beginner, Cindy" would become "You're an amateur, Cindy".

(TRIPPING OVER HIS BOOTS)

Either his boots have really long toes, or he has really big feet, haha.

Tootie says he looks cute in high heels!

"What is this, 'Guilt Central'?" --- oooo! What some fans here have thought in years past!

Natalie's deflated without saying "Scooped again" ? She just silently deflates? How odd...

Wow, Mrs. Garrett sincerely comments on the girls comforting Molly, unlike her sarcasm in the aired show, once the Blair/Sue Ann fight comes into play before Garrett enters (I like that better: "Oh good, you girls are comforting Molly", haha).

Upon Cindy's suggestion, Mrs. Garrett says "That's sweet.", but I'm pretty sure in the aired show she says, "That won't work, Cindy" --- I like how she uses her name.

Oh wow, Mrs. Garrett mentions her two sons! So cool to see her relating to Molly's problem by using her sons' viewpoints

"Crying's murder on your mascara" haha!

"as Blair says, it's 'in' to be fashionably late" --- so "Blair"! lol

(TOOTIESQUE) - they sure bank on Kim's impish charm, lol

A WWII joke, lol

Ooo, in this version it's not just play acting, it's "rediculous" play acting! #GarrettJudging

Here, Molly actually does introduce her friends. I much prefer the cute, Mollyesque "Dad, these are my friends." lol

Bucky Beaver again!

Oh wow, Molly was sure up on her environmental concernts ie: eating! lol

Sue Ann tries to help stalling by sitting Dr. Parker down saying they'd like to get to know him, lol.

Natalie has braces!! Whoa!! What the---??? "Buick face", lol

So they ended up giving Sue Ann's line "I wonder who that could be?" to Mrs. Garrett in the aired show. And where Mrs. Garrett is "cutesy" in the aired show, here, she panics! lol

Ha! "an encyclopedia salesman"! A hold-over from "I.Q."!

Huh, interesting Blair/Sue Ann lines about Miss Fix-It, true love, and fairy tales. I preferred the aired show, where Blair says something about being right, but wishing she weren't (or it not feeling good).

Wow, Blair ordered a cab! That does add more realism to the show's theme of spring break, with Cindy and Nancy having left earlier, and now Blair's cab arriving to take her off as well.

And they gave Blair's second sentence to Tootie---like they wanted "cute Tootie" to benefit from that line as a sure laugh from her---which, of course, it would've been!

the "Good Hands People"?? lol

Molly's song!! It's right there in the script! Cool!!

"that sneaky frizz-head"

"Give me a martini. I'll fill up on the olives." lol

Blair: "You just described my parents" --- interesting!

Beauty parlor and poker game with Blair's parents, interesting...

"Molly, this isn't going to sound like the Blair you know and love."

"I gotta go. If you need me, call...collect" lol

Aww, in this version, Molly says "Thanks, Blair". I like that...I wish they'd kept it. A Blair-Molly friendship exchange is very rare; in the aired show, it's one-sided (with them not having Molly acknowledge Blair with a thanks...but, at the same time, it's still realistic, though)

And Mrs. Garrett wishes Blair a happy vacation.

Wow, Molly's betrayed by love! "I just guess nobody can really love anybody. I'm never getting married. Love is a bunch of bull." --- gosh Molly, don't drown in the bitterness!

And then Mrs. Garrett, "I thought Blair just left." haha

"Sounds like fun. Just the two of you together" --- they didn't have her saying "and all that laughing gas"! I'm so glad they added that on!

Whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute...here, Angela has been Dr. Parker's assistant for just 3 months, but he left home 6 months ago! Wow, where were the writers trying to go here...

"And Mrs. Parker, aren't you doing your hair differently?" "No, she's doing her name differently. That's Angela." lol:

ENTER JUDY PARKER! (no thanks to Lorimar, haha

"Mrs. Parker, I'd know you anywhere."

"Is that you, Mr. Bradley?"

"Judy?"

Ugghh oooookay?...That's very awkward...why the heck would they have him question, "Judy?"

Wow, Judy Parker's wise to her daughter's ways! She knew she wasn't sick! Wow!

"And, Dad, I forgot to tell you, Mom is coming up."

"Thanks. I'll be looking for her."

"She cleans my teeth. And she's very good for your father." --- lol! And what?? You are STILL going to your husband's mistress to clean your teeth???

Aww, Dr. Parker didn't just "leave"; it was Mrs. Parker's idea!

I remember her mentioning Beverly Ann, but I'm not sure about her sons. I don't think she does, but it's been a while since I've watched DS (except after Charlotte passed away, I watched the 2 DS episodes that featured her in a starring role---in one of them, she gets a proposal!).

She was housekeeper, and DS rarely ever mentioned anything about her personal/family life. But I remember the Beverly Ann mention because SHE ACTUALLY SAYS "BEVERLY ANN" (!). I seem to recall that other that, she had "no family", at least by way of being mentioned. We never even got to see her bedroom!

Also, as character-insightful as that line is about the things wrong with the various food supplies, I feel sorry for poor Molly Ringwald if she saw that line---she was only a youngster, what if it freaked her out on eating ever again?? Then she could have been the subject of "Dieting"! lol

Haha, I do remember that logo---what I remember more though, since "Mama's Family" is my favorite sitcom, is the "Lorimar Telepictures" credit after those episodes!

As I mentioned before, there was rumors that Charlotte thought this script was totally unrealistic and demanded revisions. Like an ex-wife would go to her husband's new girlfriend for a dental cleaning. The revised script was much more realistic. Molly's parents did not get back together and neither did Molly's mother and her father's new girlfriend become besties.

On a side not, I saw that Blair started to break into Lisa's Texas accent and had tears coming down her eyes (and wiped them way) after she counciled Molly. I am not sure if those tears were called for in the script or they were real on Lisa's part. At this time Lisa's parents were breaking up and would soon divorce shortly afterward.
