I finally got to read one! lol...the tiny one, lol
So, at Blair's first line, Sue Ann looks up, "annoyed"? Wow, she must've not been in a good mood this night in the common room, lol. And then she gets even more annoyed! Wow, lol (but what realism!). I like that Blair ends "(SMILING IMPISHLY)", haha. I find it interesting though, they do not note Sue Ann as reading a book in the first place. You're right Retro, I could totally see this being a cold open! Wow, one page from 1979/1980 that has remained floating out there somewhere---what a find! Thanks for sharing! |

![]() You poor guy! Okay, ya know what? Maybe instead of printing, I'll start going through some other scripts (oo, I sound like a Hollywood elite! ) chunk by chunk, so I can FINALLY talk about them here!Yep! Only they didn't do tags, so that's why I thought a cold open. Yes, we fellow fans thank you for your efforts!! |

![]() Shutting off a light seems much more like a tag moment than a cold open. And the script's presence at the end of "Dope" doesn't seem like where a cold open would go. Then again, I haven't seen the scripts for the episodes with cold opens included, so I could be wrong. Quote:

Other than that, it sure sounds like a cold open to me. And the turning out of the common room lamp fading to black would make for a great transition if they faded up from black to the title screen for the intro. But yeah, if this shows at the end of "Dope", that is odd, and throws a whole wrench into that, lol. (by the by, as a last resort for printing, I've emailed our library asking how much printing black and white pages is per page, lol) |

As a cold open, I think it might work best with "Emily Dickinson", as that episode involved homework and cheating. Quote:

And then you had The Hallmark Channel, which edited the shows so that they had cold openings! (I vividly remember "Gossip" 's cold open). Quote:

It faded up into the cafeteria, Blair with an open newspaper and (I think) putting her hair behind her ear. And Tootie piping up with, "Hey, wanna hear some gossip?" and Blair looking "impish" (heehee) with "What?", or however their lines go. I guess that was the first "fake cold open" I saw because I remember being like, "
B-but that's not how the show goes!"It's interesting that they "de-evolved" by trying a couple of cold opens in season 1 and then not doing them at all, instead of what you may assume of not doing them, then progressing to doing them. Interesting. Whetting my appetite all the more!

Along with audience laughter in the dark giving way to those singing gals!Hahaha! Good ol' Lorimar! ![]() Exactly. They cut the first scene into a small part, and a larger part, and moved the small part to the beginning, a la a "cold open"! (and that first part was cut for syndication, as it opened up right on Tootie blabbing about Mr. Harris, and nothing beforehand) |
