In this week's episode, there was a situation in which Jack and a black guy were arguing over whether blacks or homosexuals have been a more oppressed group throughout American history. As the two of them were having their debate, a bunch of different people from a bunch of different races and religions appeared on the scene. The argument went on and on in regards to the prejudice against all different ethnic and religious groups, not to mention women, the elderly and the overweight. At this point, another man came in and Jack suggested that he tell his story. The man said that, as a straight, white male, he feels that he is under more attack than anyone else in America! Well, I am not going to say that I feel that I am oppressed, but I am going to say that straight, white male describes me from soup to nuts! In my most recent post on this page, I mentioned that, in this episode, the character of Will's mother played by Blythe Danner guest starred. I am crazy about her! I do not know if being white has anything to do with it, but I do know that it is because I am straight and male that the sight of Blythe Danner always makes me drool!
