Which show do you like better?
I like both shows but like “227” a little better than “Amen”. ...except that last season of “227”, which was kinda bad. |

I haven't seen Amen since it originally aired back in the 80's and would love to tune into it again. Is it on any of the free over the air broadcast channels? What I remember most about that show was the crazy, neurotic daughter, I think Thelma was her name. She was a riot! I'd love for Antenna TV to pick this show up.
As to which I prefer, I guess I can't really make that choice without having seen Amen in 30 years, but I do like 227 and agree the final season was torture. As soon as they brought in those annoying goofy roommates, where the white one cringingly acted like a black person, the show was done. And even though Jackee got a big head and ego from being on it, she did make the show. Once they booted her off, all the life went with it. |

Recently seen 227 and like it and used to like Amen but haven't seen it in so long since it was first run,so can't really say which one I like better ! And would like to see Amen again! That would be so cool if Antenna would pick it up!!![]() I also didn't really care for the last season of 227! |

AMEN!
227 seemed like a women's club or something. But I admit I've hardly seen it. It's never on anymore! If it comes on again on TV One or BET I may check it out.. But Amen was great with Deacon Frye, Ruben, Thelma, Rolly, & the rest. It was funny seeing Thelma pine SO hard for Ruben like that! Thelma was crucial to the biggest storyline of the show(Will Thelma & Ruben EVER marry??) so she wasn't out of place at all. |

I think both shows are great. But both got pretty unwatchable toward the end of their runs - like most shows. I would probably choose 227 because the whole cast was excellent, but I like both shows a lot.
