There was a case one time about a biracial marriage that produced three children. The youngest of the children had much lighter skin than her brother and sister and her mother began paying her huge amounts of attention and ignoring the other two children. Eventually, the parents divorced and on one weekend visitation, the mother abandoned the two older children at a convention and kidnapped the youngest daughter. Anybody know if there was ever an update?

Wow I'm suprised you remembered that one as I don't believe its ever been on Lifetime. I have it on tape is the only way I know about it. Very strange segment!! Yes I believe the mother's name was Melody Martin. Her light skinned daughter she abducted was named Poloma and I believe she started calling her "Jubilee" shortly before she abducted her. I felt so bad for Martin's other two children as she didn't care for them near as much as the younger lighter skinned child. Yes I'm happy to report that I also have the update on tape. They showed Martin in court and also showed Poloma playing on the playground with her dad and stepmom.

Thank you very much! It has been years since I saw that case, but it is one that stuck with me. I am glad to know the little girl was returned to her family.

I recently saw this segment for the very first time and it really hit a chord with me, probably due to having the same background as Paloma herself.
I tried searching for news items, etc on this story. I couldn't find much of anything but I did find Paloma's MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/dovejoy This picture was eyebrow-raising: http://www.myspace.com/dovejoy/photo...2%3A4947130%7D. I guess Melody's children, at least her daughters, have reconciled with her. |

Thanks, I wasn't even aware this one was solved.
The UM segment portrayed a dark-skinned boy and girl and a younger, much lighter, girl that the mother abducted but except for a slight difference in hair color the sisters don't look that different. |

I wonder was Paloma really Paul's biological child?

I came here to ask the same thing. Melody's behavior was strange with the way she totally ignored her older children. But this post has a picture of her and it looks like she is definitely Paul and Melody's child.
