Default Would Nancy have ever made it into "The Group"?

We're told in episode 1-13 that Blair was able to get Sue Ann into "The Group", a popular clique at Eastland, but that she was unable to get Nancy into "The Group".

But Nancy wasn't a nerd, and seemed popular. Was Blair just unable to get Nancy in because Blair herself was new to "The Group"? If Tumpy and Emily hadn't been expelled for having marijuana at school, do you think Nancy would have eventually been accepted into "The Group"?

Maybe they didn't like the attached types. Blair and Sue Ann were single, free to do pot whenever. Nancy was tied down with Roger.

That's a good point: they were all single. Maybe they were jealous of Nancy's relationship with Roger.

But if the goal was to do pot, why invite Sue Ann to the group? She was the smartest girl in school, and kind of square.

Or distrustful; here's this "boy" who could rat on them and get them expelled.

They probably saw her as naive, manipulable, and a pushover.

Now, that is an interesting take. I suppose a clique of young ladies doing illegal activities would be suspicious of a young guy they didn't know.

Well, they weren't wrong. Within five minutes of Sue Ann entering Tumpy's dorm room, and with only a little peer pressure, she was toking up some prime ganga.

Nope. Nancy was too much of a goody-goody "Ms. Perfect" type, I can't ever imagine her being a part of that rebellious group.

She definitely seemed to be the OCD type (based on the footage left on the cutting room floor), and not the type to use drugs.

I can imagine her staying out past curfew, if it meant being with Roger.
