Default Betty Jo in Season 5

So Betty Jo is supposed to be around 18 in this season because her trip she went on was supposed to be for graduating from high school. Why was everyone okay with the much older Steve and her getting together?

Well he was what mid to late 20's? Not that much older! Esp. for those days . In the 60's there still was the mentality that the husband "take care" of the wife! And older guy would probably provide more financial security! Esp. in a small old fashioned rural community where they lived! Plus he already was tried and true! They already knew Steve awhile. Knew he was a good guy being he had already dated her older Sister !

Also, what did Betty Jo do after high school? Billie Jo went to secretarial school and had her singing career and Bobbie Jo went to college. Was it ever addressed if Betty Jo went to college?

Looks like she was fixin' to be an "everyday housewife"!

Referring to the ep. where Steve was lying on the couch singing Glen Campbell's "Such are the dreams of the everyday housewife, while Betty Jo was up doing housework"!

It was pretty obvious that whole direction for Season 5 was for 18 year old Betty Jo to be the first one married.

I guess the real life timeline for Linda and Mike getting together totally changed the show's course.

Wink Betty Bounes Back to Basics

I saw an episode of 77 Sunset Strip last week and Betty Jo (Linda Henning, after all these years I still don't know which P.J. name goes to which sister) Linda, was in college along with some other hot babes. In college(!), now this was at least 3 years BEFORE Pet. Junction even started, somehow 3 years or so later Linda Henning had a 2nd childhood and was now back in middle school. She must have really failed her college 77 Sunset courses!

It looks like Linda is about five years older than Betty Jo.

Back then it wasn't unusual to twenty-somethings to play teenagers due to child labor laws.
