Default Fantastic Four

Seems that the Fantastic Four is still popular because recently when I went to pick up a prescription at Walgreens, I noticed that they had brand-new figurines of the Fantastic Four members namely the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch.

So I bought the figurine of the Human Torch. It was supposed to be $20 but that day it was reduced to $16 so I saved some money.
I really think that this new figurine looks better than the previous Human Torches in that this one looks like it's really on fire. Quite impressive and great to put on display.

Recently I've also gotten interested in the original Human Torch that was published during the 1940s. So from an online store I bought a trade paperback of reprints. The difference I see between the old and new Human Torches is that in the newer Torch, his facial features can be seen despite his flames. Whereas with the original Torch, his facial features cannot be seen at all as they are totally obscured by the flames.

Those fiures are from the vast Marvel Universe line, theres been close to 300 figures produced since 2005.

The 1940s Human Torch is a robot with a synthetic skin. Also for the time, the artists werent trying to produce as "hyper detailed" images like they do today, it was more about the storytelling. Back then it was more or less propaganda to rally citizens against The Axis powers.

The next figurine that has become available in the Fantastic Four series is Reed Richards Mr. Fantastic. In my town, the figurine is overdue because I've seen other collectors on YouTube who have the figurine already.

It may not be overdue, sonetimes reviewers get advanced products before the official release.

The reason I did not get the FF's Invisible Lady figurine is because it shows only one arm transparent. Inferior to a previous figurine that I have, which is able to turn transparent entirely.
Not only that but when the transparent figurine is dipped into cold water, then the blue costume appears. So by comparison, the current figurine disappoints me.

Its supposed to represent her during "mid-phasing" I dont think we will see any gimmicks like color changing plastics, light up features, etc. with this line. Seems to just be more traditional and focused on getting as many characters out there as possible.

I see your point about "mid-phasing." Along those lines,I would have much preferred if the entire half of one side of her body (right side or left side) was transparent from head to toe. Would have been much more impressive. But to show just one arm transparent doesn't do it for me.

Kept repeatedly checking at Walgreen's for the action figure of Mister Fantastic. But no luck at all because the next one, the figure of Medusa is already out.

Because Medusa's superpower is her Living-Hair, the figurine of course accurately makes the hair go all the way down to her feet. What's the disappointment is that the overabundant hair makes the figurine top-heavy so it's difficult to keep the figurine standing.

The Extraterrestrial, the Super-Skrull is certainly noteworthy because he has All 4 powers of the Fantastic Four. So it came as a great disappointment when I saw the figurine because the figurine is shown with only two of the FF's powers. One arm shows Ben Grimm's power and the other arm shows Human Torch's flame-power. But the other two powers are nowhere to be seen. You would think that the two legs would show the other two powers but no. What I mean is one leg should have been transparent to show Invisible Girl's power and the other leg should have been shown stretching to show Mister Fantastic's power. But nowhere to be seen. Doesn't make sense.

It's only recently that I found out that I've been mispronouncing the name of the FF villain, the Super Skrull. Until recently I always thought that the word rhymes with skull. But actually Super Skrull is pronounced same as "scroll." Phonetically makes sense when you realize that the alien planet is named Skrullos.

I like the animated series from 1994-1995.

Phonetically it is not pronounced as "Skull" or "Scroll". Its pronounced exactly as how it looks. Just say Skull but add an R before the U. "Skrull" Skruh-LL, Skrull! Just watch the 60s-90s animated FF episodes featuring the Super Skrull to understand the pronunciation.

Even if it might have been pronounced as "Skrull"on the animated series, what I'm saying is what I heard from the interview from the Marvel staff member. I don't know which staff writer it was but he stated the pronunciation is "Scroll." There are a number of words whose spelling differs from its pronunciation.
