Default Antenna TV Marathons

I wish Antenna TV would consider changing the start time during its themed-special Marathon ONLY to air Johnny Carson Mon-Fri 10:30pm-11:30pm, start the themed marathon at 11:30pm. Sat & Sun air Johnny Carson at 10:00pm-11:30pm. Airring the special themed marathon at 11:30pm. I think a lot of the best episodes that air usually are the early episodes. Yet Antenna TV airs those at 5:00AM.

That's nothing. The Decades marathons are worse! Look at the shows they normally feature: 21 Jump Street, The Commish, Wiseguy, Hunter, Tarzan. Who would want to binge watch or tape those shows for a whole weekend? One or two hours of each is plenty enough. At least they had the Lucy Show on a couple of weeks ago which was a good choice. But unfortunately, that has become the exception rather than the rule. They need more shows like that and enough with these boring cops!

The Coach marathon on Labor Day weekend starts at 1:00 PM, mainly because of the E/I Shows. Murphy Brown marathon night before the revival is shorter and in prime slots from 7:00-11:30PM. 5:00 AM is too early to start, but I would not want all of the marathon to be stuck in late night either.

I know. They keep repeating these same boring dramas and don’t show enough sitcoms.

I was pretty disappointed with the Head of the Class marathon. I thought it was gonna be every single episode like the Silver Spoons marathon was, but nope.

What time is the best time to start a marathon? I originally suggested 11:30pm because Johnny Carson is originally on and isn’t that the number 1 show on Antenna TV?

I like it that two better shows, Alice and Head of the Class, get/got much longer marathons than Coach Even though I do like Coach, that show gets old really quickly, Antenna's better off using it as filler, and bring back better shows like Becker and Wings to the 10-11pm Eastern time timeslots. But they probably won't.

Three's Company is another show I think needs a rest, been overplayed on Antenna. That timeslot can go to a show like Head of the Class or The Hogan Family or even a new show.

For a Back To School marathon, I would have preferred Welcome Back Kotter which is a far superior show.

I have no idea why Decades has become repetitious with their Weekend Binges. The Commish and Tarzan were both on not that long ago, and here they are again.

For example, among other scarce series they have access to The Bob Cummings Show ("Love That Bob"), but it's never done as a binge.

For supposedly liking Coach you sure are in a hurry to get rid of it (almost as much as Gimme a Break), and Antenna hasn't even aired Coach a full year yet, had never aired on the station before 2018. Definitely doesn't get old for me. I agree Three's Company needs a rest but it has been on a whole lot longer. For that matter so have Wings and Becker. I like Wings but have gotten to see it plenty since coming to Antenna. Becker doesn't deserve primetime, it starts a dangerous trend of getting into 2000s shows. The only other show on their lineup that has aired in the 2000s is Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but its ABC portion is mostly from the 90s. Large majority of Becker's run is from the 2000s. And it's OK at best, the supporting cast on Cheers is a lot better.

Becker and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch both started around 1998 I believe which is now 20 years and both have gotten really poor treatment by Antenna, and both deserve good primetime slots. Coach should've been the show that is at like 1AM instead of Becker, Wings, Head of the Class, or The Hogan Family. I also believe that the reason Coach even entered 10PM was that Craig T. Nelson is in the summer blockbuster The Incredibles 2 and they wanted to cash in, so to speak. Like I said, I like Coach but it gets old really quickly, unlike Becker or Sabrina which never get old to me. I'd rather see Evening Shade get a "Back to Football" marathon, but I don't think they have that show anymore.

And also I'd rather see a re-run of Three's Company or any given Norman Lear show than Coach, but like I said, I like Coach in small doses. So, you do you.

Also, a reminder that tomorrow we'll hopefully know what's on Antenna September 4th.

Well, we'll be able to access the schedule for September 4 and see if anything is or not. I'm hoping soon we'll hear about the Antenna TV fall schedule. They need to bring back (if they still have the rights) Doogie Howser, Mr. Belvedere and Evening Shade. I also wish they would put shows like Becker, Wings, Head of the Class and Murphy Brown in primetime slots.
