Default "Jenny"?? (another student!)

Wow, I completely forgot there was this other student!

Her name is "Jenny"---if only it had been Cindy instead! But, this is still fascinating, another girl to add to the small roster of other named students besides our "fab four" in the cafeteria years!

I was going to post about this earlier this week, and then forgot. Yes, Jenny appears in two episodes, so she's not even a one-off.

She was played by Dawn Schroder, who I believe was Ricky Schroder's sister.

In a later, non-Eastland, episode, she plays a character named Dawn!

And she even appeared a second time! And a third! (though as "Dawn" the third time, not "Jenny"):

Check it out, she pals around with Tootie 'n Terry!

Ah, simultaneous posting

Yep, this is fascinating! I never would have known this had I not looked up her IMDB when I saw her credit! (or, at least, until you would have remembered to post about it, lol)

Why, whatever do you mean? It was always Cindy in this episode: Cindy, Natalie, and Terry.

AHHHHH,HAHAHAHAHA!!

Thank you RG for the biggest laugh of my day!

Besides the humor, your digital re-imaging is wonderful! (again! How does he do it???)

I was thinking about this scene a little while ago; I wonder if this scene was written with Cindy and Sue Ann in place of Jenny and Terry? After all, those Lost Girls sure do love to turn up when a hot story hits The Eastlander! Perhaps the Js weren't available, so they re-cast it with Terry and the newly-created Jenny? It's a theory---perhaps plausible, perhaps not, but it's out there now, lol.

I just hop in my DeLorean and set the decade for the 1980s! Then I spend weeks rewriting the past. Unfortunately, there are always unforeseen variables which get altered with every change in history; this last adjustment had the unfortunate consequence that Donald Trump is now president of the US!

Sue Ann and Cindy did previously show interest in The Eastlander, it's true, and they were both in Journalism class. And it is clear that the producers wanted some semi-regular Eastland girls in this scene. So I suppose it's possible, but what were they BOTH doing, to miss this episode?

Interestingly enough, someone just wrote this "Where Are They Now" FOL article, and included a section for Jenny/Dawn Schroder-Gregg:

Dawn Gregg – Then

Writers were in a situation where it was needed to add a fresh face to the cast. Eventually, they knew that the character of Jenny would be best portrayed by the actress Dawn Gregg. It was a Catch 22: although there were some actors who were cut after Season One, producers also needed to bring in new characters to bounce off the main ones. As a result, Dawn Gregg was considered the perfect fit. Although her role was minor, it was exactly what the writers needed.

Dawn Gregg – Now

Unfortunately for Dawn Gregg, she fell off the Hollywood radar shortly after leaving The Facts of Life. Since then, she has been turned her attention to family life, with five kids to her name. Amazingly though, Gregg made a stunning return to stardom in 2012. Even after 25 years in the Hollywood wilderness, she was able to return to what she originally loved doing. These days though, she has worked in many aspects of the filmmaking industry, as a writer, producer, and even as director.

Whoa, did she pay someone to write this piece? "add a fresh face to the cast"? "the character of Jenny would be best portrayed by the actress Dawn Gregg"? "bring in characters to bounce off the main ones"? "Although her role was minor"? What a laugh...she appeared an entire 2 times as Jenny, with just a few lines!

(but interesting to read, nonetheless, lol)

The whole article is written like that, with people who did two or three guest spots being referred to as "the cast", etc. Still, I thought it was very interesting that they were pretty thorough. They didn't get everyone, but they did get many more folks than those "where are they now" articles usually include.

Well, that is pretty cool that they were so thorough, even if doling out more credit than what is deserved, lol.

Perhaps Jenny O'Hara forced the show to stop showing a character named "Jenny" out of spite for being axed! lol

What do you mean?! Dawn, and her character Jenny took The Facts of Life by storm! The producers knew they needed talent, so fresh-faced Dawn was brought in to revamp the aging show. Once "Jenny" was in place, the writers could continue to bounce fresh ideas and come up with new storylines around this important character. Stardom was in her future!

The whole article, '80s. The whole article is like that.

Well, you'd think she'd object to characters being named "Emily", but they sure had a lot of them!

Here are more photos of Dawn Schroder (and her more famous brother) around the time that she was guesting on FOL.
