Question Kids or Adults?

Would you say that "The Golden Girls," in its day, was a show mostly for adults or not?

Ummmm adults, definitely. Although I watched it with my grandma and was 7 when it started and 14 when it ended haha!

It was definitely written for adults, though Betty White said that most of the mail they got was from kids.

I would say definitely for adults. With all the sex talk and mostly Blanche jumping from one guy to another! I also couldn't believe that they used Jesus' name in vain in an episode. You just didn't hear that back then. By the way, I love the show, have all the DVD's and can quote lines from the show!

Definitely for adults. Reasons being most of the jab lines were referenced to older actors etc. No kids would understand the humor nor think it was funny

It was definitely a show written for adults, but kids did understand the humor and think it was funny. I was a child when the show premiered and I fell in love with it and watched all 7 seasons while I was growing up. I may not have gotten all the jokes or references, but they were definitely hilarious ladies who certainly displayed enough humor for kids to enjoy.

Not only adults, but seniors as well. That's why they scheduled it for Saturday night. I was a kid in the mid 1980's. I watched it because my Grandparents watched it. We only had one TV in the house then. I watched it because I had too. I continued to watch it because it was a funny, great show.
