Default Max and Julie talk on the phone

I don't know if this episode exists, but I need to find an episode probably around Season 6 where Max is on the phone with Julie (Mackenzie Phillips). She had already left the show b/c of drugs. I was under the impression that they left the show together, but if anyone has information on this particular episode it would be helpful.

I don't know which episode this is, but I distinctly recall an episode at or near the top of year 6 where Ann is scrubbing the floor for the whole show and going on and on about her lot in life and Max comes in to say that he got a job out of state and that he and Julie were moving. Barbara left for university and came back at the end of the episode because she changed her mind. Mike Lembeck was sent packing because of MacKenzie Phillips drug addiction, although they kept him in 1983 (it seems he put it in his contract that they had to keep him regardless of MacKenzie's issues)

I appreciate your help. According to an interview with Michael Lembeck, he said there were several (or one at least) episodes where Mackenzie's drug addiction was pretty bad, so his character just had phone conversations with Julie. It seems that she is not in season six, somewhere around 1980-81. I just don't know how to go about searching for this, as google doesn't yield anything. Any help/ideas?

Season 9 - We know they were in the middle of rehearsing the show which would have taped 4th when Mac was fired/Quit so they may have done a quick rewrite to have Max on the phone with her to cover her missing scenes when the episode was eventually taped. We know "Take My EX" was the show eventually shot 4th.

Remember, they took several episodes before writing her out officially, most likely due to the booked in of completed scripts. She crashed recording what was the originally planned 4th taped episode of the season and wasn't written out till the 10th taped of the season, which aired 11th.

I forgot how they worked around her absence in the Christmas episode, "Not a Creature Was Staying" taped after she was fired. (Taped 13th,aired 9th)

But then continuity is off a little in Season 9 due to Mac and how CBS chose which episodes to run when.

CBS had to drop in a rerun of a JEFFERSONS week 2 of the season to adjust to the lost week of production Mac caused. So it had it's fall premiere, then off for a week.

But I digress - any "Phone Conversation with Julie" would have been any episode between her last on-camera and "Dear Max". Christmas seems a possibility.

There was never a scene where Max was on the phone with Julie. However in the Christmas ep."Not a creature was staying" , Julie was on the phone with Grandma, who was trying to get Max and Julie to stay in Indy for Christmas as apposed to visiting Max's family in Houston!

Max did get a telegram from Julie in Part 1 of the "Baby Love" ep. She was supposed to be at a donut making seminar out of state for her job at a donut shop ! Anyway Max get's a telegram telling him she has a break on the weekend and to meet her at a cabin on Lake Eerie ! It was pretty lame ! An out of town donut making training seminar!! And how long would something like that be for her to have a weekend break from it even?

But back to the original question, Max and Julie never were on the phone together after Mack was fired just he received the telegram from her and of course the sad Dear Max letter where it was clearly explained that she would no longer be in the show!

Harold and Julie would phone each other all the time planning their assignations whilst Max was wearing himself out making a living for him and his wife working as a flight attendant on "Orgy Airlines".

According to Max he never cheats , but women do flirt with him as he is telling his Mother in law, Shorty " I don't know? Maybe they are freaky for beards or something" !!!!!

Swarthy and Sexy Steward.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Julie basically pulled a Gloria Stivic in this episode. Cheating on her man because she was bored/jealous. Ann defending her YET again like it was somehow partly Max's fault when he was just making a living for their family.

And Max forgiving her and accepting that the baby was his without question right away.

Such crap...
