I liked Back to You but it ended up being a good thing getting cancelled after one season. If Back to You had been long running we might never have gotten the brilliance of The Middle, easily my favorite sitcom of the 2010s and the only sitcom from this decade that comes close to the classics of the past.

Two great, underrated shows (particularly SLOZAC). Brenda Song made these shows, IMO.

Yeah, I've thought of that. We might have gotten The Middle with another lead, though.

No one could fill that role like Patricia Heaton has. With another lead The Middle likely wouldn't have come close to 9 seasons. It is like when Lisa Kudrow briefly had the role of Roz on Frasier, that would have been a disaster.

Count me as a Patricia Heaton fan, also. In real life she is from "the middle," and I've liked her ever since the Raymond years.

Early voting has Everybody Loves Raymond in first place with 4 votes, and The King of Queens and The New Adventures of Old Christine tied for 2nd place with 3 votes. Nothing else has more than 2 votes yet.
